Regrinds are good, cheap power, esp if they're mated with good supporting mods. Deltacams will do well, and fortunately sohc regrinds are cheap.

I got a deal from delta for my h22 cams, but it still ran me over 300 bucks. In retrospect, I wish I had gone with bisi-cams and done it right, from the start.

But if you're looking for cheap power, have at it.

BTW, there have been a LOT of threads on this. Search it up, you'll find a lot of helpful info.

go with a bisimoto cam. Their regrinds have the research and development for our engine (f22a). bisi meticulously created his regrinds the right way. Deltas are good but really just run of the mill generic grinds.

Depends on what your future plans are for the motor. I have a 272 regrind from delta. Its nothing amazing. Just alil more pep up top and a lopy idle.

It's for an H23, that will be an everyday driver, doesn't have to be the smoothest idle either. Just want something to step it up for n/a now but something that will work for f/i too maybe down the road sometime. So I was thinking 262 or 272. I heard from others that haven't had regrinds that the tips of the lobes fall off WTF???

Just go with a known grinder.
There are many high tech coatings available so you may want to ask about that. Inspect them/it visually before installation and if anything looks funny have it checked by a experienced builder.
Tips of lobes don't "fall off" Incorrect geometry of valve train (interference) will cause premature wear/failure. Follow manufacture recommendations for installation and correct geometry. This may involve spring/retainer kit and or machining.

Ok, thanks for the info. Is a 272 the max you can put on stock springs and is the idle noticably different?

i think bisi offers the 2.2 turbo regrind. it steps up to the race plate of turbo D B H F series. Oh btw pirate i think is using colt try flo in his "mother of all hybrids" i think hes using b h f and K series stuff in it.

I like how it sounds, thanks Pirate! Is that a sohc? Would a dohc sound like that? Would I get both cams reground to a 272 lift or is the exhaust lobes shorter, sorry for a newb question lol!!

You get both cams reground as a pair. They don't grind them the same technicaly but 272 goes for both cams. 262 on one side and 272 on the other would be... interesting.

272 has nothing to do with lift. the number denotes the duration of the cam.

Pretty sure you can't add lift (atleast much) without adding material to the cam (like with welded cams or completly aftermarket). Regrinds only add duration.

you can add lift with a regrind. its dont by grinding down the small side of the cam causing the rocker arm to sit lower on the cam lobe and thus raising more when it hits the peak of the lobe.
