    Injector Resistor?

    hi

i've had a code 43 for ages, and i've done the usual changes, O2 sensor, injector cleaner etc, and i just found a table and it points to something about an injector resistor, what is it? and is it just a part that needs to be replaced?

    thanks

The resistor is a rectangular aluminum box that looks like a heat sink. (multiple raised fins to allow for better cooling) It is located under the hood, mounted in the top right corner on the fire wall/fender. It can be easily replaced.

A code 43 could be another fuel related part other than the resistor. How is your car running?

Difficult to start when the engine is cold?
    Does it idle rough?
Do you notice that you are having Poor Performance?
ie Misfire or rough running or Loss of Power
    Does it ever stall?

Answer these questions and you will be able to pin point the problem. That beats guessing & replacing every component in the fuel system. The fuel pump, filter or injectors are usually the culprits in a fuel related problem. The injector resistor is most times the last part to be checked when diagnosing fuel problems.

    Edit*
Here is a pic of a resistor box

When I changed my injectors to 450s one of my injector clips were lose and I kept getting the same code. I noticed you changed your injectors when you cleaned them. Check the clips and answer ghost's questions and someone would probably be able to pinpoint your problem.
        GOOD LUCK

I didn't read all his other posts to see that he had cleaned his injectors. That would be where to start

i didn't change the injectors, i just cleaned them, sorry for the misunderstanding, the only problems was a rough idle, but i changed the idle around and now it's normal, not really sure about poor performance, my car hasn't exactly been fast or anything, it doesn't stall, and no problems starting in the cold...should i still look to see if an injector clip came loose? if so how?

also i'm in australia, so i prob won't get the parts off you, thanks anyway though

Did you remove the injectors from the car and what did you use to clean them?

To check the clips make sure that they are on the injector all the way. Ensure that the locking [ clips are in the proper position and you are not able to just pull the connector off the injector.

After you replaced the O2 sensor did you reset the ECU?

To reset the ECU you have to Pull the backup fuse for a minute or disconnect the negative battery cable for a minute. This will clear the code 43. If the CEL comes back on check the code again and see if it still reads 43.

A code 43 with no drive ability problems is usually a problem with the O2, O2 wires or the ECU components controlling the O2. Try these steps to help figure out what your problem might be.

                      Note:
                      1. When it mentions test harness, take your readings directly from the pins on the ECU.
                      2. right click the images and save them to your desktop, open them in a new window or print them if you find them hard to read on screen.

If that all checks out or you don't want to bother with it here is a quick test to check your resistor.

and here is a quick test to see if your injectors are working.
                      1. Start your car and let it idle.
                      2. With a long screwdriver place the metal blade end on the metal part of the injector and
                      3. Place your ear to the handle end, you should hear a loud tick...tick...tick...tick
                      4. do this to all 4 injectors.
                      5. if you do not hear any tick one one of them then it will be either a bad injector or bad wires.

with the last part, how would i get to the injectors?

The metal base of the injectors is visible from the top, look down between the fuel rail and the valve cover and you should see them.
