    Octane Boosters?

Has anyone tried these octane boosters. Like 104+ and 0-60 form Prestone, and I know NOS came out with one also. Do these really work or are they just regular injector cleaners.

u may feel something but its nothing.

get lucaus fuel injector cleaner..at least it will clean out ur system HELPING ur car.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

If your car is stock (which includes i/h/e), dont even expect a performance gain.

the higher your octane on a stock tune the slower you will be.

              lucas oil

lucas products feul injector cleaner is the only one that works i have actually noticed my mpg go up and it has upper cylinder lubricant in it and it really does something and i don't know what homeboy is talking about i spend the extra and use premium all the time and i notice a difference in how the car feels and i never have a problem with my feul pump, injectors or spark plugs.

                    FIRST OFF. listen.

OCTANE BOOSTER has NOTHING to do with injector cleaner. And the ONLY octane booster i would ever run is OUTLAW and NOS only if outlaw is unavailable.

They are the most expensive, but i can attest to personal experiences that they work better than the rest. Used it in a 400 hp 67 mustang with a 351 windsor that my friend and i built. DEFFINATLY made a difference, and stopped that high end pinging.

HOWEVER. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY on octane booster for your STOCK LOW COMPRESSION MOTOR!

Don't even waste money on anything other than 87. Your a FOOL(yes..... i said fool) if you do. That "gain" is in your head(not your wallet). So untill you get an h22 or rsx (higher compression) don't waste your money.

                    Piece.

BUT what if your on bottle(NOS), I belive that your suppose to run 91 and up.

                      true or false?

                        is this a trick question?

NOS the octane booste bottle, or NOS "THE BOTTLE"???

If "THE bottle" then yes. Octane booster is a must.

Hi Guys, I'm a noob to this forum.
This is what I have found out on my car about octane booster: Pings really bad on 87 octane. I added some Chevron techron to clean the inectors and carbon deposits that had built up, no improvement. I backed off the timming a couple of degrees, slight improvement but still pings. My friend gave me a can of Prolong octane booster and on the next tank of gas I filled up with mid grade fuel, 89 octane, with the octane boost. It still pinged for a little while untill all of the old 87 gas was burned up and then it stopped pinging.
I filled my car with straight 89 octane before but I was still getting a slight ping so I think the octane boost is doing something. Actually the combinaton of resetting the timming, fuel and octane boost is doing something. As long as I can get the pinging to stop I won't have to worry about blowing a head gasket.
I am getting ready for another tank of gas and I am just going to put the mid grade fuel and see what happens next. I may have to dump octane boost every couple of tankfuls.

                          Ken
                          Can't complain, it was free!

Try the 93 alone and you'll feel the difference.
