Starter issue?

ok as of now at 4 o clock...i was suppose to have left work already...but when i left the building to my car...my car startup was not normal....anyone ever come accross starting up with your starter going crazy like it was revving? I need answers pretty soon cuz i wanna get the hell outta this hellhole if ya get me hahaha. But really, it sounded like an RC car and I touched the Starter...its hot after it was goin crazy...so would this mean the starter is already going out? i Replaced the starter back in 07' around spring time. Help?

BTW: stock F22a1/SRI/Catback
...not even a half crank....just the starter after trying to start the engine.
I did however mentioned that i do have a head gasket issue. IDK if its even related with it though, but my guess is that it IS..or more parts are falling apart altogether as usual heh.

Definitely sounds like the starter. Probably a bent bendix, (I assume they haven't changed much since I last rebuilt one). You might smack it with a hammer or something and get lucky for a few tries. Better idea to just replace it ASAP.

bent bendix? I haven't really had any problems with the starter lately....well just starting up in general i did i guess...but i figure that was related to my Head Gasket deal, No?

Was it the starter that was revving high? Head gasket can't affect the starter. The shaft that slides in and out when the starter engages might be bent a little, causing it to hang up extended and keep spinning. Had it happen on my Corolla, and when I took the starter off, it slid apart, came right out of the housing.

occasionally the starter isn't "straight" in relation to the flywheel. It causes strain and eventually damages it.

Optima battery was bought last month.

Wow, i haven't driven in it and it hasn't worked in 2 weeks and was finally replaced with a new starter yesterday...2 weeks! driving my 99 5spd civic and GAH the CB finally works again....and heh i dont wanna sound hella *** but just wow, i fell in love all over again 2 weeks of torture man haha. Felt more like 2 years.
