looks like i may have a lead.
engine cold, i test the injector resistor box. all leads test to 6 ohms. i let the car warm up and so on, pretty much try and bring some heta to the engine bay. i shut the car off and test the leads. about two of the leads fluctuate and then maybe about 2 minutes later, all the leads come back to 6ohms.
the injector resistor box on the project car tests to a consistent 6 ohms so looks like i may be pulling it off there just to get the car to run like normal. im going to run the same test but after a long drive.
also...
-check spark plugs (looks bitchin but i already developed a small leak from the valve cover o ring gaskets, i only have 15k miles on them!)
-vacuum manifold pressure is at 23 which is kinda high but may be due to a slightly high idle -800 rpm
-fixed a vacuum cap whoich had a crack in it.
-checked FIV
-checked consistency of injector noise via screwdriver test

so basically the resistor box is messing up 2 injectors and causing them to fluctuate which leads to not getting enough gas thru them....

and fuel delivery by the injectors is determined on how long the injector is opened. at light accel and cruising, the motor doesnt demand much so the amount of power going to the injectors will be minimal. if the resistor box has high resistance especially when heat is introduced, it will not complete the loop but short out?Originally posted by cali-racer View Postso basically the resistor box is messing up 2 injectors and causing them to fluctuate which leads to not getting enough gas thru them....

when you introduce more voltage and current, it will be able to jump the gap and run decently.
kinda same thing with burned spark plug wires, it will jsut arc to the engine and that cylidner will miss.
i really hope my theory is right.

was gonna do it in the first place cuz the previous owner said he never changed it out. so i was gonna put it in anyways so i know it'll last another 14yrs but been too lazy. only took me an hour, taking my time at it.Originally posted by wed3k View Postyou shoulda done some diagnostic before replacing that fuel pump. wasted hella time.Project M3 - http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=157903

probably go to the picks and grab all the injector resistor box out there and test them lol... since there small to pocket.Project M3 - http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=157903

weird. my car never died on me. this shit is stressing me out!Originally posted by wed3k View Postwell, it got so bad today, it actually killed the car when idling. swapped the resistor box out and so far it is good. we are hitting record temperatures in the middle of the week so lets see how well this box will stand up.Project M3 - http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=157903

true, im lookin up old threads on it and its leaning more towards injectors.Originally posted by wed3k View Posttried resistance on injectors? because a motor can still run on three cylinders...
my shit smells so rich now, time to advance the timing
