I don't know if anyone has said this, or if I have said it, but I'll say it again (becasue I'm too lazy to check the other pages). Next time you park your car overnight, put a piece of cardboard under the car on the timming belt side. Your waterpump could be going bad, and they tend to leak when they do so. If you have a puddle of coolant or a wet spot, you know it is your waterpump.

well i just got home from my girlfriends house...and i noticed in her driveway a pretty nice size puddle of antifreeze on the ground.....put its not on the water pump side...it was kinda in the middle of the car towards the back...but its to late and dark to check now, i will check later tommorow! i wish i wasnt in college sometimes, if i wasnt i could of bought an f22a6 engine and threw that in there and solve all my problems, instead of paying for tuition and freeking books!! but i guess school is more important.

In that case it could be your hardpipe seal that has gone bad...or another hose that branches off of the hard pipe. In daylight...start that car, let it get up to operating temperature and start to look for leaks.

yeah im gonna do that.....but i dont think that is the reason muy car has been overheating....because lastnight and all the times before when it got hot there wasnt a leak...

Leaking fluid has got to be causing it to overheat. If you have a large puddle then you have your source for the overheating. Gotta find the leak somehow and fix it.

its either the hard hoze or one of the seals. on mine the one that goes under the themrmostat housingwas bad. i had to change it.

after that i still got a leak. lol now i got to put the new thermostat seal and some silicone and see if i lose any coolant.

how hard is it to chagne the hard pipe seals? it isnt in the haynes, so im just wondering....i know it connects to the thermo housing from the water pump....i dont have to take the water pump off do i?

well hey guys, it seems as if im the only one posting here, this is gonna be 3 in a row, but whatever its cool...anyways...

its not the hardpipe or anything...it actually hasnt leaked at all today, that one night was the first night it ever leaked(it may have been condensation from the A/C, but it would be odd if it was, because my car has never dropped the water from the A/C, my drain plug is probbaly clogged..but anyway thats off subject) so yeah i went driving around today for like 30-40 minutes which is plenty of time for the car to overheat, if it was gonna overheat it would have no doubt...but my car didnt get hot at all, i mean not even close. but i pulled into a parking lot to check my hoses to see if they were still getting really swollen......and yep both the upper and lower hoses were HUGE!! so i called my dad, and he said "remeber son when i told you that you need to cover that filter up(refering to the CAI) because as soon as that water hits that head your gasket is gonna go" and i was like "yeah i know, but when it rains i always convert it back to short ram" then he told me to take my thermostat out so it wont get hot, so i did that when i got home, and my temp definetley stays lower now..but still the upper and lower hoses are swollen!! i'm so scared to drive it for long, im so afraid the hoses are gonna bust on me while going down the road....do you guys think it is probably my head gasket since im building up abnormal amounts of pressure? i hope not, but if it is i guess oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do. things like this happen to cars when they have 260,000 miles on the engine..im just grateful my dad and I know how to fix these things. god if we didnt i would have payed so much money for all the things that have gone wrong! hahahah its cool though. shit id get new car, but i dont want to freeking pay payments. plus i still love my cb7. damn i've always loved these cars since i first seen them come out. but anyway

                            Try this:

Get engine to operating temp. Pull plugs out. Turn engine over while looking at plug holes for coolent coming out. This will confirm bad head gasket. Or if it does leak coolent out of plug holes.....bars leak

                            GOD BLESS

well i have had so much shit going on so i don't have time to fix it. but yeah my car would overheat if i didn't add coolant everyday. hahhahah
but when i did the preasure test,,,, my car leaked under the thermostat housing.
but 91 listen get a preasure test and see if get any leak.... when i first changed my uper radiator hoze that one too got a little swollen but i went dont' i don't know what was up with it.

as soon as i get some time i will change the thermostat seal. and see whats up.

haha man i didnt think your supposed to take take the plugs out of a 4 stroke engine and try to start it...i know 2 stroke you can...a buddy of mine got water in his jet ski's engine, and he just took the plugs out and started the engine and water just flew out of the spark plug housings....but i dont think i would try it on my car..unless some other people confirm it is okay...and hey alb yeah im still gonna get a pressure test as soon as i get paid again..luckily a buddy of mine just left for basic training(army) so i can drive his car if i need to, which i did tonight...and christ man it won't take you but like 2 minutes to change the seal on the thermo haha..but its all good.

i've still got a bad feeeling its my head gasket...damn i hope its not though, please god help me. please lord drop $35,000 on my doorstep tonight so i can go buy a WRX STI oh yes sir rally blue with bronze rims ah yes glory. free me of my worries.
