Can't shift because the clutch pedal is all the way to the floor and I can't get pressure. I'm 30 miles from work so a tow truck is (cheapest) $300.

x2 on matching revs, my jeeps throwout bearing blew up so i had to drive around town without being able to use a clutch, i would just start in first and rev match each gear. only did it long enough to get home though.

Maybe I just have bad luck calling places, but it's $100-150 initial fee just for showing up and $5-10 per mile thereafter. Haven't called too many, just asked two places so I could get a general idea. I'll shop around a bit more.

people are trying to tell you that you can shift without using the clutch, why not just do that?

A lack of faith in my own abilities. I tried it... and the shifter would not move. Literally. It made one hell of a racket (I'm assuming from the grinding gears) but the thing would not shift. I gave up. Was I just not forcing it hard enough?

Call a uHaul and rent a truck and dolly from them. $30 for the truck and $20 for the trailer.
Depending on what failed in the clutch system just fill the resivour and keep it full. You'll probably make it ok.
Alternatively, fix it in the parking lot somewhere.

Cheapest option is to diagnose and fix the problem at home. Towing eliminated and full driveability gained. Get a more knowledgeable friend to help.

If your clutch pedal is to the floor, check your clutch hydraulic system for externals leaks or internal component leaks. Get a service manual.

if you dont have any pressure wouldnt that mean no tranny fluid?

if the pedal is on the floor its obviously a bad part or a leak.

                        -clutch master
                        -clutch slave
-or the rubber hose that goes to top of trans

i doubt its a metal hard line thats bad. get a big thing of brake fluid and some tools. do the slave first since its the easiest, and so is the hose. if that doesnt fix it, replace the master cylinder. which then you would prob need towed, cuz the easiest way to fix that is taking the d/s seat out.

this has nothing to do with all you "rev matching" comments. if the pedal is on the floor the trans isnt messed up. he all ready said the fluid leaks out fast when he presses the pedal.

It has everything to do with rev matching. If the clutch hydraulics are messed up you can drive your car by rev matching all your shifts.

I had a hydraulic problem a month ago. It first surfaced while I was at Deal's Gap. I rev matched my way the 300 miles or whatever it was home, and then some before I finally got around to fixing it.

yeah if your clutch is all the way to the floor then it must be the master or slave cylinder.
i had the same problem in my first 5spd cb7, but i ended up buying a nice 10AE because the other one was my first car and put a new meaning to beater.
                            good times tho, good times.

I had the same type of problem when I owned my Skyline, accept the clutch pedal itself snapped. I put the car in first with it on, started it, the starter got the car rolling, and then rev matched the car across the city. Its a bitch at first, but you'll get the hang of it.

you shouldnt have to do it hard. If you do it right it should go in like butter. Happend to me plenty of times lol. First the master went bad, then the slave, then my throwout bearing.. not trying to brag but i got pretty good at it lol. but I went from 2nd to 4th because my third gear was to bad lol.

but like everyone else says its a pretty easy fix.
