Belt trouble. Need to make a course decision.

So here is my problem. No matter what i cant get my belts to stop squeaking. its probably due to having the H22 Crank pulley and F22 accessories bolted to it.

i know i need to change something because i just blew both of my belts(one was less than 2 months old) i may need a crank pulley anyway because mine is chipping.

I am going to remove my A/C lines and compressor because it's hell working around them right now. So i need another belt now anyway. even though i just got new ones. and i have the H22 bracket for the alternator. i am thinking to keep the H22 crank pulley because it has a bigger alt belt.

so would it be wiser to swap to an F crank pulley or to swap the alt and bracket to the H series? and would the H22 alt bracket fit with an F power steering pump and bracket?

cheaper to get the F pulley, but is there any advantage to swapping over to the H alt?

    TIA

Swap the Crank pulley and keep your F accessories.

I installed my F22a crank pulley and used a 93 Accord EX belt.
      Driven about 20miles.
Lets see if it makes a difference.
Im still keeping the other belt i took off for back up.
Never know what can happen on the way to Florida.

theres no reason why an H22 pulley will be exploding belts.

are you making them too tight? or not installing them straight? of the 6 ribs on the pulley, only 5 are used - which one did you leave empty?

It is installed on the outside of the inner pulley. but the belt slides into the inside

But i found out what my problem is. My P/S pump is taking a shit. wouldn't stop squeaking, and then i started to hear a whine. i found out what i could be and started from the top. took off the P/S belt. No more squeak or whine. the P/S pulley is super hard to turn so thats what was making the squeak.

and the crank pulley is chipping pretty bad. i hit 7500 when the belts went. Pretty sure that it just popped off a little and tore on an edge.

looks like some more upper body strength for me soon.

Is that where it belongs? I was told the opposite. but i guess that would explain why it would shift over to there.

              Thanks

                Thanks
Yeah thats where its suppose to be.
Idk, maybe my P/s pump was riding on the belt since i have it zip tied to the CC.
Hey atleast i have an extra belt now that its not worn on the top.
And with the F22 pulley, the drive belt fits nicely.

tell me about it. but i don't mind really. i expected it to be a bigger process or else i would have attempted it myself. given time and tools were available. and in all honesty, i didn't pay a whole lot. and i have really gotten to know my motor this way.

and most of my trouble was because the ignition timing was set wrong. must have slipped everyone's mind. long day you know.

it's all just little problems i have. nothing serious. i do get paranoid though. but i won't be paying for another swap though.

^^^^^^^^^same here, i got the engine and the swap for a good deal, but the labor was not the best....... at all

the car drove fine thank God, but the wiring was horrible, i had to hook up vtec myself,

but like previously stated, it frustrading sometimes but, you learn a lot more and you become one with your car, that is always a big plus

yep. it's not acting up but sometimes i will get a CEL Code 21. if i shake the wires to the ecu it goes away sometimes. i think it might be a loose pin or something.

i'll give it to you guys. the only reason i mess around with interchange for perfomance or swaps with engines or whatever is because i do it myself. i'm a transmission tech. by trade and couldn't imagine doing h22 swap and having to pay someone to do it after paying a good dollar for the engine alone, no hoses, belts, timing belts , waterpump.

the warranty on a used h22 is none(here anyways).there really is no recourse either. if you pay a shop to do a swap and there is a issue after they will genrally just shrug their shoulders and send you on your way with a speech on how you shouldn't mess with imports because there too complicated.

understandable. The only reason i payed is because i don't have the means to do it myself. No garage. Shitty tools. and i haven't had much experience with this car either. and on top of that time was a BIG issue.
