    Sporadic Overheating Issue

Ok, lately I have been experiencing a sporadic overheating issue. I would stop at a light or a drive-thru and the temp gauge would start to creep up.

I have checked and fixed one small leak, replace thermostat, both fan sensor switches seem to work just fine. I have flushed, drained and refill my coolant. I have bleed the system a couple times and I'm sure the water pump is good but some days I dont have any symptoms but others days the temp needle creeps up on me, i have to put it in nuetral and rev the engine for the needle to come back down.

Im kinda lost on this one, Night Wolf keeps talking about its time to get a new motor and I dont wanna hear that

I dont think my headgasket is blown because I didnt see any coolant in my oil when I changed it a couple weeks ago and I dont have any white smoke coming from my tailpipe.

Could there be a clog somewhere? Or maybe my fan switches are going out?(the fan is brand new, may be 2 months old max).

What other factors would cause overheating? I'm going have the system bled professionally to see if that solves the problem and also have the cylinder tested to see if the head gasket "might" be going bad. I have no loss of coolant which is annoying.

is there a leak anywhere? sometimes when the coolant system can't pressurize it will do that. later.

have you checked this small hose that is behind the distributor, i think its called the heater hose? it turns out that i had the same issue and a new radiator, hoses, thermostat, sensors, radiator flush later... it ended up being that stupid hose,

if u have to rev ur engine so it can cool down
that could mean, not enough voltage to ur fans, or

waterpump needs to spin faster to cool down engine (waterpump)

leave ur car on, on a concrete surface and check for leaks,

check if ur system is getting presurised

check ur radiator, it might be clogged

if u get constant bubbles coming out of ur radiator (headgasket)

mine had the same problem, it ended up leaking from the waterpipe and block

remember, if ur HG is blown, it'll blow any seal starting with the weakest
ur engine is letting gases in ur coolant system, it will create more pressure than it can withstand, and will eventually start leaking

Both as in upper and lower? They seem to be in great condition but I'll change just because. The little hoses on the thermo housing and the ones behind the engine isnt leaking but looks kinda old so I guess I'll just replace all these damn house just because.

radiator cap maybe. if thats bad then i could let pressure out hurting your cooling system's performance.

both fans work with the a/c on, one of the first things i checked. They also kick on when they suspose based on my diagnosis today.

it seem to seal good, the rubber arent worn out and i dont see any leaks. Would a faulty overflow bottle affect the system? The top cover of the overflow bottle is a little loose at times.

Yep...I changed out my hoses and radiator saturday evening and was it a PITA. I was not having any issues (none so far with this CB) But was time. Radiator looked as if was never replaced. Which could have been the case, since I am on the same motor and tranny. Had 294k when bought 1.5 yrs ago...

Everything said/suggested thus far in this thread are possibilities.

My suggestion? Start with the "minors" first. Hoses. I actually have a new lower hose if you need one...
