    Power Locks Not Working

OK, I got up this morning, and the power locks on my car worked. I get to work and they dont work... Whats the deal? I checked the fuse, it was good. I hit the lock button, and it almost sounds like there is clicking noise in driver side door down by the speaker (but not from the speaker itself). Is there some type of relay behind the door panel that could have gone bad that I need to replace? I have an aftermarket alarm/keyless system. When I use the remote, the alarm will set and it will beep like it normally would but no locks. This car is really starting to piss me off.... Please help! I dont want to pay the shop to fix this one...

Too be honest sounds like yourt acuators may have locked up.

Mine dnt work either never have since I got the car, but I hear the same audible click you hear. The click we'er hearing im pretty sure is the relay driving the acuator.

Someone correct me if im wrong.

I have no clue where to find them, i wanna get mine fixed too so lemme know if you find some cheap, or if it's somthing else since our issues are alike...

Namely, behind the driver's side door panel.

Replacing that did the trick for me, when I had a similar click in the driver's side door but w/ no results.

If no power locks on all doors and its a '90-'91, then as noted the power door lock module box has bad solder joints. Either replace with another used one, or if you are familiar and have time isolate the bad solder joints and repair the PCB where affected.

There should be a link on this site with pictures of a bad door lock module board.

I just fixed my right rear PDL unit - it was getting power, and the motor was turning but no actuation.

After gutting the actuator, I found a broken piece of plastic that holds tension on a small spring... I couldn't figure out what it dis till I removed it and looked at how it did it's thing.
It seems it is used to apply pressure to the rotating shaft that the fly-weights are attached to to help it initiate "spin" to catch the outer housing and transmit torque to the gear train. I re-glued the broken plastic back on, and re-assembled it, after which it blew out again. (Glue not strong enough). So I tried some Loc-Tite 402 C.A. based adhesive, and cut one wrap out of the tiny spring to ease up on the tension. After re-assembly, it worked like a charm.
