How do you tell exactly what year your H22A is?

Also, the best year to purchase the OBD I H22A is 1995, correct?

its dials on the head that say the year. Its just above the header. might have to clean it off with a cloth then you can see the year

As said, the dials say the year.

As for the best year to buy, doesn't matter too much (there was no tuning/manufacturing differences except between markets), just look for the lowest number of miles and the general condition (ie, no oil leaks if possible). Are you buying from an importer? or someone local?

you can buy an OBD II H22A and all you need to do is convert it over to ODB I

but OBD I is just easier from the start. but you can use any H22 motor.
