    Bearings, brakes

Alright guys. I am to the point of parting out my car. constantly having problems and constantly throwing money at it to fix things. But anyways heres whats going on.
Both wheel bearing are bad. Started sqeeking, now sounds like a lot of metal balls compressed together trying to spin. along with that, steering wheel starts shaking when im coming to a stop, after a few days of that coming to a complete stop after 10mph abs engages or at least it feels like it is since its pushing back out to me. Could all this be from wheel bearing? another weird thing i noticed when it rains and i go over say a cross walk it feels as if the front end shifts over to the side. Let me know what you guys think. im getting sick of this cb7...

well you can fix the wheel shaking by upgrading the rotors and calipers to the Vigor ones....I've got brembo blanks w/ Vigor rotors and hawk hps pads....they don't fade or warp nearly as easily, even w/ some 100mph stops. Cost about 250 for everything though

Elaborate on the crosswalk thing though. You mean those little button things cemented into the asphalt? Those screw up any car. Or you mean the painted lines? Could just be worn out sway bar endlinks? I know my shock bushings are slightly cracked and lower control arm bushings could use a refreshing since they're original, but I know how much of a PITA it is to press those out and then you have to deal w/ getting an alignment yada yada...maybe some day.

But if the bearings are bad, then you gotta replace them...I mean our cars are old so stuff goes bad, no matter how good the parts are, OEM or not. Have you tried maybe repacking them with grease? or you think they're beyond servicing?

I just spent 10 hrs rebuilding my rear calipers after i found out my RR slide pin was frozen causing the pad to grind against the rotor, luckily I caught it in time so it didn't wear the pad away completely. Try doing brakes on a Sunday lol, nothing's gonna work for you that day haha.

      Fix the known problems first.
Then proceed to fix the unknown problems, Steering wheel shake could be as simple as a wheel balance required, but knowing that you have bad wheel bearings its just a guess.

thanks guys. Im just trying to find a day to do the wheel bearings. I bought both lefts and rights.

Yea when ever i went over the painted lines on the road it would make a squeeling noise as if i maybe spun the tire alittle and when it rained it would shift the car around felt like i had no control but tires arent the best of shape so that just might be my second problem.

yeah that could be a combo of bad alignment and crappy old tires. And also if you were turning or not when going over them. Basically trying to drive over those when wet or otherwise, is like driving on ice. The paint is SUPER slick and yeah you'll have no grip.

yea, but just crusing over them i never would expect it. even when its dry out. ive just never been a car thats done it. Unless it was a new car, new tires on like a show room floor. after i get a day off i can replace the wheel bearings and ille let you guys know if it fixes everything.
