    axle head aches

yup one of the many head aches this new rides given me

so I put on the CV axles from my CB9 on my CE1 yesterday. they were new, about 2 months old when I wrecked the CB9. but sence that day I kept busting the inner joint on the right (passenger) CV axle. Ive went through 3 axles today. 2 of which I had to change in a retail parking lot. all of which are CB axles.

so my question is is the 4th gen axle the same as the 5th gen?

cuz I looked at the auto zone website & it has different part numbers for the 93 MT EX right axle & the 95 EX MT right axle

I know the brakes are prob. the same wagon brakes right? but the transmissions might be diff. If the part numbers are diff. then it has to be diff. Try looking it up on Majestic and see if Honda ones are the same part number. Autozone isn't too reliable compared to Honda I'd think.

they are definitely different lengths, of course they are breaking. CB axles will be too short, so they might work as long as you dont steer at all... lol

Yeh the 5th gens are definately longer 1/2 to and inch or so longer. You'll notice that when you are tightening a 4th gen axle on a 5 gen tranny, it will pull the joint until its almost ot totally out.

              ok question.

why would you not just use a 5th gen axle?
instead of buying a bunch of ones that dont work?
