Well, you could have a leak. Check your gaskets, check the piping itself.

If your exhaust system looks okay, it may be a fuel system issue.

Have a buddy cover the tailpipe with some rags and listen for a leak under the hood or under the car.

did you put your cat. back on after installing your exhaust cuz if you dont have your cat. its going to stink like exhaust, I'm running 2 1/2in piping with no cat on my jdm h22 and as soon as I make a stop with open window I get a big wiff of 91 octane.

Did you get the engine tuned? It could be running rich. Do you have a catalytic converter in there still?

Maybe it's because you put 14.5 inch exhaust on it. jk Check gaskets, and if she's running rich.

Yes. If you're smelling exhaust while driving then you have a leak somewhere. Get them fixed asap, not good to breathe the fumes!

Check for leaks in the pipes running between the engine and the muffler.

And if you don't have a cat, get one installed. They don't hurt performance considerably, and they will keep your car from polluting the environment. All we need is one influential politician to smell some ignorant ricer's catless exhaust for there to be yet another law passed to restrict our hobby. Don't be stupid.
