    5 lug ABS question

I have had to disconnect my ABS becauuusussseeee....

At low speeds, the pedal would vibrate (like close to 0MPH), and I didn't want to take a chance with the system going crazy at high speed. The system was 100% fine when I was 4 lug... and I have the full Prelude setup. What could it be? Is there a problem with my ABS?

That is correct, no light, just (I guess) the ABS motor coming on at close to 0MPH.

did you set the tolerances for the sensor. i know the abs ring is bigger than the accords off of the prelude, check to see that its where it needs to be. i know that can cause it to do weird things.

That could be it... I think for the fronts we just reconnected the sensors, but for the rears we had to adjust them and we def didn't go by any spec or anything. We did shim them though...

My light was on before my 5 lug swap. I still shimmed the rear sensors and I swapped over my accord front sensors to the odyssey knuckles, which mount exactly like the accord. Now until I reach about 35mph when i hit the brakes at a slow roll after just starting the car I feel the ABS kicking in. After 30-35mph the ABS light comes on and I don't feel it anymore.

I'm not gonna lie it freaked me out at first but now it just goes away when the light comes on and I'm used to it. Next time I have my dash apart the ABS bulb is coming out and when I swap to the H all the ABS junk is coming out.

I have decent tires on so I haven't locked the tires up yet.... w/e

I know there is a connector in the rear end of the car that completely disables the system and the light. I will just disconnect that. Just sucks cause it's a safety item that's in and taking up weight that I want to be functional

I'm bumping this thread because I'm considering the 5-lug conversion, possibly.

I haven't found much info in my searches about the 5-lug swap onto oem disc/ABS setup (10th anni = rear disc with abs).

Has anyone been able to get the abs to function correctly after the swap? I'm assuming the issue is from the abs rings being different, the fronts and backs will have to be the same diameter and have the same number of teeth, correct?

If you space the rear sensors correctly you shouldnt have a problem.
My driver side sensor is spaced to spec.
But on my driver side im missing one of the two bolts that hold the sensor in place.
Because of that my ABS light comes on.

If the sensor has to be spaced, that tells me the abs ring is smaller in diameter. How does this not cause a problem even when spacing it back to spec? Seems like if the ring is smaller then it either has fewer teeth which will cause the abs to see a speed difference between front and back and activate, or the teeth are closer together which may confuse the abs and make the light come on??

Or the third option is that the front AND rear rings are smaller than the Accord, but the same in diameter. In which case all 4 corners need to be spaced out?? In this case the abs should function just fine.

I understand the need for proper spacing between the magnet and ring, a hall-effect sensor must be spaced just right for it to pickup and vary voltage correctly.

Just trying to understand the exact issue in my head and clear up any uncertainties before making a decision. Thanks!
