    Cam install, 2 quick questions.

Now this may have been covered before, and I think I already looked it up, but I can't remember.

I am planning on installing my Gude Cam tomorrow. I bought it used with 6000 miles on it, so do I need to use assembly lube when I drop it in the head? Or just oil on the journals?

Also I am going to use a stock cam gear, I believe the cam rotates twice for each rotation of the bottom end. What is the procedure for lining the cam up on the correct rotation?

    Thanks guys

Its really hard to screw up a cam install haha. If you are putting together a fresh motor that has no oil, then assembly lube all the way. But if you already have oil in the top of the head then spin the cam in there good before oiling down. Thats what I did and I have close to 5000 on my cam and still doing great. The cam should have a key way. There is only one way to put it on and I never heard of anybody having problems with cam timing. All you need to do is line the lines up with the arrows on the plastic peice behind it and you are good. And the cam gear should say UP. Once you see it, you will be like aw man this is easy. The worst part is getting those valves adjusted but yet that is still easy on the F22, just timing consuming.

Assem. lube on the lobes, rocker pads, and the valve stems. Put lots of it, to little and you can mess up the cam.

        Lube it up good! Hehe

Other then that after install check for wear just in case. Make sure you use oil with additives.

So I think I will dose it with Mystery Oil when I install, and then I need to change the oil anyways since the car has been sitting since September.
