5th gear

Does anyone know if I'm able to put the 5th gear from a different trans into my m2f4, I know the LSD from the m2b4 fits it but I want to have a longer 5th, traveling at 80mph I'm sitting at around 4300 rpm and since my tranny keeps poping out of 5th I think the syncros are effd so I might as well make the trans the way I want then so
I'll be getting carbon plated syncros and an LSD unit and if possible a long 5th gear

From my understanding, synchros are only used during a gear change to match shaft rpms and avoid grinding. After the gears are engaged the synchros have nothing to do with the gear popping back out. That issue is caused by something else, likely mangled teeth on one of the gears.

As far as swapping the 5th gear between transmissions.....I'm not sure on that.

Ok tranny is fine just low on oil but I'm still gonna change out 5th gear

I've been reading up and read a thread saying I can put the h2u5 trans 5th into mine which I hope is true because that would be sweet sitting around 2800-3000 in 5th at 80

Please post back with definite results as that's what I'm thinking of in the future. Great acceleration 1-4 and a cruising 5th, can't beat that without a 6spd.
