    Black box on the firewall

I'd like to remove the black box on the firewall, the one with the map sensor. I've read about how to do it, I know that the only thing I need to keep out of that box is the map sensor. My questions are: What do I do with the vacuum line nipples on the intake manifold and throttle body? And what do I do with the 2 electrical plugs on the front of the box?

    Thanks in advance.

Oh, and I know one of the hoses goes to the egr valve, but, I just got a block off plate for that and the fitv.

My car is a 90 LX with an h22, if that helps, or is pertinent to my question.

When I got my h22 accord the vac lines were just capped off and the plug for the map sensor was all that was kept. The map sensor itself was attached to the intake mani via a 1 inch vac line. Other than thay everything else was removed including charcoal canister.

Do you have any pics? I wasn't aware the map sensor had a vacuum line? I haven't really looked at mine much, I wanted to do as much research, get as much info as I could before I started the process.

      Thanks for the help

should be three 10mm bolts that hold the box on, 2 or 3 vac lines and two electrical connections. i know for sure theres a map sensor and an egr solenoid and maybe something for evap related.
        I <3 G60.

0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

The main question I have is, what do I do with the nipples on the intake manifold and throttle body? Do I just cap them off?

I just did this to my sedan.. check page 18 and you can see pictures.

One question... what ecu are you running? p13s look for evap and egr. You would have to run a chipped p28.

Just cap off all the nipples on the intake manifold. Leave one for the map sensor since your throttlebody is obd1. obd2 tb's have the map sensor on top.

There is one other small pipe the red hose comes from. cap that off too. Its near the rear engine mount right underneath the tb.

Remove the black canister and black box. remove the map sensor from the black box. Only 1 plug is needed for the map sensor its the one with red, blue with white stripe, and white with blue stripe wiring.

The other plug just hide it in back of the fuse box.

Like I said just look at my sedan's mr page.. (click the pic)(page 18)

Thank you. I really appreciate the help. And yes, I'm running a p13, for now. As soon as I can find one, I want to get a p28 or po6 and have it chipped, then get tuned.

I got the black box outta the way, my car was bucking like crazy, I turned around and came home, had to adjust the idle screw, I was idling at around 600 rpm's, got that problem solved.

The pipe you're talking about, is it the one that's along the firewall? I saw it, but I wasn't sure if that's the one you were talking about. And will I need to use a clamp or something to hold the cap on?

Thanks again for all the help, I'm getting there
