Need Help: Stuck in [P], car wont start

Ok, I need some help....I think I blew a fuse or something but let me give u guys the background story as it happened.

I've been experiencing intermediate starting issues with my car(normally after letting it sit in the scorching Fl heat for 8 hours while working) which made me think it was the main relay because it normally started after like 10 - 15 mins of trying. My step dad keep thinking its the coil (internal - 99 CG accord) but I didnt think so.

Had the same starting prob leaving work today so I drove 35 mins to this little korean place and picked up a new main fuel relay for $26. Popped it in, car starting, and drop home. 5 mins away from home i noticed a CEL (not sure how long its been on).

I assume it was due to the new relay so I did a few errands and went to my moms house to drop something off. After searching the web for a bit I found a thread on honda-tech how to check the CEL code similar to how we do the CB. I grabbed my paper clip and attempted it when I saw the paper clip sparked a little.

At this point, i thought OH SHIT, i fucked something up. Before my dumb move, the car was starting but after that little spark the car havent started and i noticed that the CEL light on the cluster DISAPPEARED. You know how when you turn your key to 2nd position and the dash lights up and u see the check engine light logo, maintenance, ABS, etc well now the CEL doesnt show up at all

I'm still lost on why this happened but something else happened, I can no longer shift my car outta PARK when the key is in the 2nd position like it did before ( 99 CG accord).

Well, nonetheless, i replaced the coil, check the wires and plugs (distributor cap/rotor are a week old) and still it cranks but no start.

My search on the web states it could be a lock out solenoid, brake switch, some fuses or blown brake light bulbs.

So tomorrow I will be checking all of the above but any input or pointers will be greatly appreciated.

I've had a long string of bad luck lately but im tryna stay positive

If you saw a spark, and shit stopped working afterwards, then i would check your fuse box's, theres one under the hood on the passenger side, and another in the driver side kickpanel. Fuses are there to prevent things from frying from shorts. What color was the "service connector" and how many wires did it have that you jumped with paperclip?

As for the car not coming out of park, you can always insert a key into the shift lock release slot to the right of the shifter, if you haven't already, I'd also suggest a picking yourself up a haynes manual from the local auto-parts store, so you can familiarize yourself more with the car, the electrical diagrams are like gold for issues like these.

Dude, check the fuses. You probably blew a fuse for the ECU, then go back and check your brake light switch and the rest of the fuses before you condem your ECU.
Finally Up and Running. Numbers to Follow. Check my MR

I check every fuse in the car and i already checked the brake light switch..everything works. As i stated i have no MIL (check engine light) on my dash now and there is no signal from the ECU to the scan tool. Something has to be bad in the ECU.My stepdad check the ECU and everything except one thing gives no reading(forgot the name) but he said it should give a reading because when he was messing around with his old civic ECU that same thing did give a reading.

Seriously, we have combed the car so much we are just stuck right now...im getting the ECU for $50 so its not costing me too much and I really think its the ECU from everything ive read.

Yea, i need to get a haynes but my local stores are out of the one for my year so internet has been my best friend. I did use the key in the shift lock to release the shifter but still no start so its doesnt do any good.

According to what honda-tech said is jump the brown wire with the black and thats what i thought i did but it did spark.

And believe me bro, i know the location of all 3 fuse boxes and i check EVERY signal one and they all shows operative and i even replaced the ECU fuse just to be sure and still nothing.

If the new ECU dont work then I dont know what else to do.

While you still at it check the inside of the ECU and TCU as well.
