    wiring iab .. ive searched

    ok b4 i start i know im suppose to search and i did over and over again and i first i thought i found but then there seems to be confusion on the pink and black wire. which one goes where some say the pink one goes to pin a17 on the ecu and others say the black one does. some say one goes to the ecu and the other to ground whiles others say it goes the other way around can one please elaborate on this.
    im running an h22a jdm with p13ecu

    thanx and i apologize in advance if its confusing or long

      Pin a17 on the ecu completes the Ground. So the pink wire you keep refering to goes to pin a17 on the ecu. The black wire is a 12v source there are various way to get 12v to the black box, I tapped into the 12v signal in the iacv bacause it uses the same 2 prong plug and it real close to the "black box"

        Is your ECU a square box JDM P13 or a rectangle USDM P13? That will determine whether or not pin A17 is ground or positive.

        Pin A17 on a USDM P13 is the (-) ground and on the JDM ECU it is the (+) signal.

            is that only on the p13 cus im runin a jdm pt6 and it completes the ground for the iabs

              Sorry to thread Jack but I have a question, I have a 91 se at and a 92 5sp and I'm doing the a6 mani on the 92. Will the pink wire that's goes to the ecu from my 91 go into the same pin on the 92 ecu plug.

                  I'm not familiar with the JDM PT6. I do know that it is 12v (+) for the OBD1 JDM P72, I have also read that it was the same for the JDM P13 as well.

                  Look at your ECU connector at Pin A17, if there is a pink wire connected to it then you would be right in thinking it can be used for the IAB. In saying that, you will need a PT6 ECU in order for it to work.

                      Not to belittle anyone here, but, when have you ever seen a solid BLK wire be anything other than a ground? If anyone mentions seeing BLK as (+) on some hack job swap they have worked on that doesn't count. As a rule of thumb when ever I am doing wiring. I never use BLK, BRN/BLK or GRN/BLU coloured wires for anything other than grounds.

                      What ECU are you using?
                      Don't just say your using a P13. That doesn't help anyone.
                      You need to give us the part number (P13) and whether it is OBD1 or 2, JDM or USDM?

                        Sryy my fault
                        I'm using a jdm p13 ob1 ecu
                        (srry I couldn't ge the par number) and the wires I'm refering to is a pink and a black/yellow .
                        I get u on all wiring I've done I never used black wires and never thought black wires served as power.ppl seem to think otherwise on this forum and the searches I've had and every one seems to be confused on how to go about this .
                        And thank you sir I never knew about a difference in the jdm /usdm ecus

                          OBD1 JDM P13 IAB wiring;
                          Pink wire (+) to pin A17
                          BLK wire (-) to ground.

                          OBD1 USDM P13 IAB wiring;
                          YEL/BLK wire (+)
                          Pink (-) to pin A17.

                          OBD2 USDM P13 IAB wiring;
                          YEL/BLK (+)

                            Just for the record not ALL jdm ecus send a pos signal to the iabs

                            For example the jdm pt6 completes the ground for the iabs

                              Gottcha!

                              However, just for the record you may want to state that it is only the JDM PT6 ECU that doesn't
