    Drain your oil without tools

I saw this and thought i would share as it would make for an interesting topic of discussion. (not sure if this belongs under technical but ill move it if need be)

These are my personal views VVVVVVVVVV

    Pros:
    *No tools needed
*No more trips to honda for crush washers ( after 20+ oil changes its paid for itself )
*No more stripped oil pan threads ( for the little kiddies or women that DIY while you are working away from home )
    *INEXPENSIVE !!!
    *NON corrosive metals
"The Engine Oil Drain Valve has been tested and granted "Genuine Part" status by six major motor vehicle manufacturers in Japan"

    Cons:
    *No more magnetic bolt
*I dont see how dirty particles would completely drain without a completely open path. ( wouldnt it get clogged in the valve and then the valve would become useless?? )
*N-Series valve (with nipple to accept hose) is not recommended for passenger cars with low clearance."

im concerned about this also. i guess it would have to be taken off and cleaned depending on how dirty your engine is. ( 5-10 changes depending )

also it depends on which style you get. i would not get the elbowed ( L - Type style )

most only stick out 1/2" longer than oem bolts + on the cb7 chassis you would most likely hit the front xmember brace and headers b4 your oil pan.

slammed g37 members have used them 6 months no issues ( ie.

I don't like it, looks like a solution looking for a problem.

You still have to go under the car and take off oil filter anyway.

The only worthwhile upside I see here is not having to worry about getting splashed by hot oil. Then again, the filter is what usually gets me.

Crush washers only cost like 5¢ each from Honda. If you buy 50 or so from the parts counter, they usually cut you a deal. Hell, I've gone into multiple dealers and asked for dozens at a time. They've given them to me for free on numerous occasions.

The drain plug shouldn't be a hassle to remove. It's a delicate bolt and should never be tightened with anything more than an open-ended wrench. If you strip it, you know you've done something wrong.

That's steep! I've never seen them priced that high.

I just looked at an old invoice from a local dealer, I bought 5 at 11¢ each.
