    idle problems

car surges 1k-3k all day everyday. read the stickies and did it all. cleaned the iacv with brake clean, bleed the coolant 3 times. i have noticed that if you have the intake off, theres a little hole in the tb and if you cover that up, it stops and idles like it should. whats the problem?

    FITV or a vacuum leak.

sometimes cleaning the IAC or others aren't enough and you have to replace them.

check the fast idle valve. take the top cover off and look inside. there's a white thing in there that come unscrewed and can cause that. later.

adjust your idle screw, its on the firewall side of the throttlebody. tighten it. probably came loose over time

update: if doing one of these things doesnt work, do all three at once.

another possibility is the Throttle Position Sensor. My car is bouncing 1100-1900rpm, even with my IACV cleaned and FITV replaced. When my friend unplugged the TPS though, it idled high, but it idled smoothly. I have bought a new TPS and will be installing it saturday night hopefully, and crossing my fingers that solves the issue. You can pick up new TPS' off eBay for ~$19, i got mine from this seller called chandler motorsports or something.
