Well not exactly what I was hoping to hear... Lol I was hoping I could remove the cross member then lower the car till the engine is resting on a floor dolly undo the mounts and wires and lines then raise the car back up and roll out the engine/ tranny

Drop the front and rear cross members with the engine onto a piece of plywood/dolly. Then use a jack with a couple blocks to rais the chassis. Raise it enough so that you can drag the engine out through the wheel well.

I dropped mine onto a fridge dolly and just pulled it out by raising the chassis just enough to clear the engine on it's side.

Jack it up and remove the complete suspention from one side.

Slide something under the engine and lower the chassis down onto it.

Raise the chassis and slide the trans and engine out through the wheel well. No hoist required.

However, removing the hood and going down to an equipment rental shop and renting a 1 ton cheery picker. Then lifting the engine & trans out through the top would probably be just as easy.
