    ebay timing set..

Hey everyone, im about to order a timing set that includes both belts and tensioners, water pump, cam seal valve cover seal and a few other seals for 75$. It seems too cheap to me. Is they're much difference between belts and such?

if its too good to be true it probably is. why go cheap on such vital parts in your car. do u want your car to break down on you when u need it the most?

        PR CB7 guarantees this kit

i install this kit a lot
how? i tell people to buy parts, and more than 5 occasions i've gotten this kit
at first, i refused, but i wasnt too racist with the kit and gave it a chance
its been almost 2 years since the work, and no complaint yet

the only thing on this kit is, buy a WP gasket from honda, the seals are pretty good and the timing belt is the same as a autozone/advance one

also i rebuilt a couple of engines with the "EVERGREEN" gasket set from ebay too, they're $65 and are a FULL gasket set HG are 3-layers metal (the HG itself won me)
i installed these kits thinking in the end i would make double the money, since they would fail faster (i could charge the customer twice for buying this shit) but ended up with my tongue up my ass being that, they're as good or better quality than retail autostores ones, NOT BETTER THAN HONDA

        FLAME ON

Alot of the kits that are being sold through Ebay are using the same suppliers that places like IMC and Worldpac buy from in larger supplies. You may get parts from Korea, but in the end, half of everything is made in Korea these days. More than likely you will end up just fine.

cheap rubber on cheap ebay parts tends to go bad VERY quickly. like in a matter of months instead of years. so alot of ebay stuff you can get away with but when it comes to the most CRITICAL engine components that are made almost entirely of RUBBER it sound like a veryyyyy bad combination.

if you are looking for exceptional pricing, check out RockAuto.com. same brands as carried in autozone/advance/napa but MUCH cheaper... and its at least a couple steps up from ebay crap

I've bought good stuff off e-bay, but not cheap stuff! I recently got a full engine gasket kit AND a timing belt kit. The Gasket kit was made by Stone, who supplies Toyota. The timing kit was a GMB pump and pulleys, with Continental belts. I ended up paying $90 for the timing kit, however that was after one belt turned out to be cut by a box knife or something. (small refund and a local belt)

I wouldn't go buying anything you can't find reviews on either. I read the GMB stuff was pretty good. The Stone gasket kit took a while to investigate (Stone sells under a different name to Corporations. The name "Stone" is to the public).

I just remembered ebay is also where I got my inaccurate VSS, AND my 6 hour igniter!

Just remember this, the most expensive belt is A LOT cheaper then a new head!

I used a ebay head gasket...it failed 2 months later. But I did run an ebay timing belt and water pump for a while and no issues.

Aside from possible damage, its just not worth my time to have to do it twice vs buying quality parts.

friend whose name i wont say, bought 2 honda headgaskets and both "failed"
(head was warped) he never bothered to resurface

i guess i might look at it different than most people here, being that timing seals and belt takes me 45 mins to do, and 80% of the time i end up replacing them since i get them for so cheap

still "cheap" there's no replacement for honda parts if thats what you all want to hear, shit if it made it 16yrs without breaking or leaking that means if replaced with the same part it should last another 16years period
i just dont think spending $400 on seals and belts for the timing part of a 20yrd engine that might spin a bearing in 6 months or something like that is worth it
i dont expect anyone here to follow any of my advices, but the advices i give come from experience
everyone here knows times are "tough"
and this is an accord site not a s2ki, myis300 or evom
only a few people see this car different, for most the cb is the only thing they could afford for now and think anything more than the value of the car is worthless
if you money is an issue, this kit will work
