    A/C not working properly

Hey guys. I have an unique a/c system. I have a prelude compressor with custom hoses. Everything working just fine until a couple of months ago. Thee compressor started making these weird grinding noises. I then later replace EVERYTHING. (Compressor, condensor, evaporator, expansion valve, dryer/receiver, and flushed the lines)

The problem now is that it is not holding vacuum for longer than 5 minutes. I already replaces all of the seals except the ones in the compressor. I decided f*** it. I filled it up with some r134 and it blew COLD. Down to like 32-36. But it wasn't holding a charge and the low side is reading all the way into the red when the a/c is not on. When the a/c is on it reads normal. Then as soon as you turn it off right back to red.

Any advice or recommendations for trouble shooting will be much appreciated.

    What "red"?

You have a leak somewhere. Find it.

You're talking RED as in overfilled red on the gauge right? If I recall, it should be within the green range while the ac is on, and pressure will rise after the ac is off.

You've replaced all the other seals, you really should replace the compressor ones as well. No point in changing some of them and leaving the other ones.

The thing is the compressor is relatively new. Plus it isn't leaking anywhere. I already put a leak detector in there. Right now it hasn't "leaked" for about 4 days. Have you guys ever had anything like this happen to you?

Yes the RED I am talking about is the "overfill" red on the gauge. But I know for a fact that it is not over filled because I only put about 17-20 ounces. The system was completely taken apart and replaced so no refrigerent was left in there. TI understand how when the system is off that it builds up a little pressure but the needle would shoot all the way to the max red like there is a blockage somewhere.
