    main relay question

Have a quick question. I don't really drive the CB that much any more, but I do start it and take it for a spin periodically to keep the battery charged and fluids moving. I went to start it the other day and nothing. I couldn't hear the fuel pump priming. Now my question is this; can sitting in 100+ degree heat for a couple weeks hasten main relay problems. I seemed to have had intermittent problems with it in the past. Maybe once every month or two. Just wanted to get opinions on that question before I start diagnosing this wekend. Thanks.

Sitting in 100 degree weather for a few hours can cause the main relay to fault. Mine does it occasionally in cooler temps. I open the car doors for ten minutes or so and it books down enough to work again.

I just repaired my neighbour's main relay last weekend. He had an intermittent starting issue, so I removed the main relay and resoldered all of the connections. Hasn't had a problem with it yet.

Quick easy fix. Took me about 10-20 mins to repair it.
