i bought bits and screw extractors...they didnt do crap

i ended up chiseling away with a flathead turning on the edges until i finally started backing out

and thus, the weight is lifted

Those bolts are pretty critical to be torqued to the proper tightness because they hold down the cam caps. Too tight can cause wear on the camshaft and decreased oil clearance for the camshaft.

so the 12mm say 16 ft lb and those worked jsut ifne

the 10mm say 108 in lb and i only have a ft lb torque wrench

would it not be 9 ft?

everyone else says they have better luck jsut snugging them down

          which 108 in= 9 ft

i barely turned before this thing snapped..of course i couldn't feel the pressure really being exerted because the leverage of that torque wrench.

9lbs = 1/4 rachet @ wrist tight. even my g/f can get 10lbs out of her wrist. u dont need a foot long 1/2" rachet for the job. ive put motors back together using a tq wrench only for the headbolts and have yet to have anything fail.

            k

just double checking, i normally don't overthink this whole torquing thing, but i normally don't take off my rocker arm assembly.

thanks for all the help and advice everyone

Glad you got it out man
One thing I've found to work on Chevy & Ford head bolts/studs

                1/8th in drill bit
1/8th in Left hand Tap (Fine thread)
                a Left hand Bolt
                and Some patience

You kinda want the Bolt to be sticking out 1/8-1/4 in

Course Thread doesn't work as well and leaves you with less material to work with if it strips out on you.

If the left hand bolt breaks off drill it out and step up a 32nd in size
