    H22 unique bouncing idle

I have this unique problem. I'm getting that usual bouncing idle. But its only dependent on when I turn either the headlights or foglights on.

I tried swapping 4 different IACVs, and tightened the FIV down all the way and bled the coolant many many times and it still does it.

Is there something someone could suggest other than buying new IACVs and FIVs?

btw, this same problem happened with my OEM intake manifold as well as my new Skunk2 IM, so i highly doubt its a gasket issue or vacuum line issue since I replaced all those when I swapped intake manifolds.

Have to bench tested all the IACV's? Because honestly, thats where I'd be looking. When a huge draw occurs that's when the IACV kicks in and does it's job.

should I just block it off with a blockoff plate from Rosko racing? because if that solves the problem for 35 bucks vs. 250 then I'll be all for it.

Ya know, not sure about that. I cant remember if Ghetto_CB7 just has his hanging or if he deleted it with his chipped ECU. Are you running a chipped ECU?

But did you test any of the IACV's?

Only thing I can think of is a faulty ELD or poor thermostat ground.
Does it happen when you turn on any other high load devices such as the rear demister?

No I haven't tested them. But I did try putting a spare ECU I had, a P0F, I guess its off an SiR Accord? and the problems seem to have gone away. The RPMs kinda hang at 1200 or so for about 2 seconds but then the idle drops to 750.

Right now I've got a chipped P13 ECU done by Locash here in Phoenix. So another member on my local honda forum suggested putting a diff. ECU in and the problem seems to have gone away.

It happens yeah pretty much with any high load device.

My manual did this when I put in an auto ECU.

yea the ECU is from an Automatic H22, maybe he needs to make it manual somehow?

I had it chipped when I was Auto H22 also a couple years back, but when I did the 5spd swap I never thought anything of it.

Good luck with that one, better off getting a manual and going from there.

sure enough it was the ECU. He converted a few diodes on there that were looking for shift solenoids and all the auto junk and it idle's rock solid at 750rpm.

I now have 4 extra IACVs lol

                          Glad it's fixed.
