my vacuum control box isnt working!!! there is no vacuum at all from those three or four hoses that go by the tb on my friends new h swapped 2 door. he recently bought the car with a blown h22 and we replaced it with a new one. the car was sitting for about three years. It still starts but has a jumpy idle from 700 to 4000 rpms with no ecu codes. Do i have to simply "jump" the box and figure out which wires need power? plz help

What? There will be vacuum from those ports if the engine is running, otherwise they are plugged. The jumping idle is most likely from a vacuum leak.Originally posted by cleanjdm View Postmy vacuum control box isnt working!!! there is no vacuum at all from those three or four hoses that go by the tb on my friends new h swapped 2 door. he recently bought the car with a blown h22 and we replaced it with a new one. the car was sitting for about three years. You said in your OP that there was no vacuum coming from the hoses that hook to the IM. That's what I was referring to. If that's not what you meant, maybe you should go back and edit your post.Originally posted by cleanjdm View Postno, the actual box located near the back left side of the firewall is suppose to be sucking in air, and when u unplug number 21 from the tb the car is suppose to die. this unit is not working at all. so no shit it acts like a leakOriginally posted by Mishakol129Do not disrespect my intelligence. From my understanding the box doesn't "create" vacuum, rather "harnesses" the vacuum from the engine and stores/uses it.Originally posted by cleanjdm View Postbump

Maybe some of the check valves were installed backwards or the vacuum hose is cloged with debris.
Im going to have to agree with dj ender, I dont believe there is anything in that box that creates its own vacuum, there would have to be a motor or vacuum in there that makes suction, but maybe there is. If thats the case I guess you would have to replace the part that was bad.
Sorry I dont have a better answere. Just did my swap and my only concern is where the heck do all these hoses go! I guess I got them in the right spots cause it seems to be running good for the moment.

yeah make sure that white check valve is going in the right direction, you can blow into it to see which way the air goes and make sure its going to the manifold.Originally posted by GXLancer View PostMaybe some of the check valves were installed backwards or the vacuum hose is cloged with debris.
