    F20B butterflies

i got a question about them
the engine came with them on there, however pherable.net says their computers are not programed for them,
my question is when i get a retune i could tell them to add that back right? i mean with out it its allowing a lot more air intake and bogging it down in the lower RPM's right?

Actually the opposite, they are closed if there aren't being used. So in reality your low end is fine/normal, but your top end is suffering. I would honestly gut the IAB plate and tune for the extra air.

IAB support is a hardware-based modification that can be done rather easily. Phearable, I'm pretty sure even sells the components to convert. Maybe their premade ECUs lack this feature but it can certainly be added. For an H22B/F20B application you'd essentially be creating a P72.

As mentioned above you need to add the IAB components to a P06 or P28 ECU as they do not come with IAB circuits enabled. It is very simple and it will work exactly like the stock IAB unit. Once the hardware has been added you can then manipulate the IABs open/shut RPM via tuning software.

IABs are similar to VTEC, whereas you can't really tell what RPM will work best until you get it on the dyno and give her a few runs. If you just pick an RPM it could do more harm than good. That's for MPG & Power, it probably won't physically hurt the engine.

i dont have them on there right now so its like running them open all the time which is hurtting my lowend, i want to add them back but from the responces ill need to get it tuned when i do so i can have them functioning.

The spacer usually is the IAB plate unless you've removed it, gutted it out and reinstalled it.

Since you only answered my post by basically retyping it and putting a question mark behind it I must ask more questions to try and help you out. What type of ECU do you have? I don't care what company you bought it from, just what's the number on it.

Right, which means the secondaries are closed all the time, helping low end and hurting top end. Either have the IAB circuits added to the ECU, or gut/delete the plate and tune for the added air.

                        Having now established this point:

Yes, you can have them add them back to the ECU as well as the engine itself. If they don't want to add IAB functionality to the ECU other chipping companies wil.
