I always fill it all the way. Saves me from having to go back sooner. I can also calculate my MPG that way.
      MRT
37.5 MPG, AC on, cruising at 80.
30.0 MPG, AC on, aggressively driving around 90.
27.5 MPG, no AC, cruising at 90 with occasional gridlock. 40 degrees Fahrenheit

Well using 3/4 would only be 12.75 gallons. I usually go more than that.
Generally I let it go to 300 miles, then start keeping an eye on the gauge.

Since the guage on my wagon is currently not working, I wait for my low fuel light to come on. It's usually about 13 gallons +/- when I fill it completely, and if I go straight to the gas station or make some stops along the way.

I can only get about 300 miles out of my sedan. It blows. Thats 95% highway mileage. And i dont drive like a jackass either.

Usually 14.5 and up on fuelup and i go empty to full everytime.
