    Air conditioning delete question.

I know some of you may say there are a lot of threads regarding this topic but i have not seen one that covers my issue.

I recently have done a complete overhaul of my cb which included throwing out some pieces that i may have needed to reassemble the car.

I am currently looking for a part number or a link to the part which came on DX models WITHOUT factory A/C.

It is the vent or duct that bypasses where the A/C unit would be under the dash.

I totally gutted the interior and i will not be reinstalling A/C now or EVER! this piece is critical for my reassembly and any feedback would greatly be appreciated.

my guess is that the model you're looking for maybe a canadian model. i know some of their base models came with no a/c from the factory

I've looked on majestic and every other Honda parts website with no luck.

its a HEATER DUCT, that bypasses the a/c evaporator. nothing like doing it correctly and with OEM HONDA parts

I usually use www.hondapartscheap.com for looking for partnumbers for my car. It's a pretty extensive site, and has reasonable prices generally. For you

Didn't DX models come without ac?

Yes all DX's came from the factory without AC installed. Honda sold a kit thru the dealers to add AC on to them, most new buyers of DX Accords opted to have this kit installed.

You might be able to get to it without removing the dash. All the nuts and bolts are at the top and bottom, and you can see them when you remove the glovebox. A little prying between the plastic sides and you should be golden!

thats them on majestic, just type in the part number and it comes up with this:
                      http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...VIN+Number+---

you can also just gut the stock piece and line it with tape to seal the holes (aluminum, gaffer, or duct tape work well.)

you dont need to take the dash out to get to the box. Just the glove box.

Why not just pull the evap out of the black box and close up the box again? Thats what I did.

Actually to be honest, my fuse box is inside of the old evap box

2 key points here, DO NOT yank the dash, just the glove box! I've always removed the evap. core and taped/sealed up the box w/ metal repair or HVAC tape. Works great, it's free and no loss of air velocity coming out of the vents IMO
