    Front rotor issues

So I used a slide hammer and I think I fucked the bearings up.

When I turn to the left I kinda hear a clunking or banging sound now. What Gives?

Should I tighten the axle nut more?

If you think you damaged the bearings... replace the bearings.

none of the ball bearings fell out, and I don't know any physical symptoms of bearing failures, so I'm thinking maybe I left something lose? I may replace bearings if I have too. I would rather come across a set of 5x114.3 15s

Grab the wheel at 12 and 6, as on a clock, and push/pull alternately. If there's play, the bearing is bad. The balls won't fall out until things actually fall apart... and by that point, you'll be upside down and on fire in a ditch!

Usually with the slide hammer, it'll pull the bearing off it's race and by that time, it's already no good.

            So I would replace it.

The bearings we have are sealed bearings

If you could see the balls you fucked it up and it needs to be replaced

Never use a slide hammer to replace the rotors

Take the knuckle off, take out the four 12 point 10mm bolts on the back. Put the knuckle in a vice and run some longer bolts of the same thread pattern in place of those four bolts. hammer the fuck out of it until the hub/bearing comes out of the front of the rotor. Now you're ready to take the rotor off properly

I can do front brakes on one of these accords in about 1.5 hours properly.

Fyi, typically bad bearings sound like a groaning or low roar, when you turn to one side.

Play in the wheel is different then play in suspension.

We did my friends suspension, but destroyed his bearing unintentionally.
He brought it back a week later. The wheel could be made to sit straight,
but when you looked underneath it, you clearly saw the wheel wobbling,
                not the suspension.

Well I did separate the hub from the race, I could see the ball bearings. I thought I tighten the axle nuts back as much as I could. I guess there was some play left. Once it was on the ground and not on the lift I took a 36mm and tighten down the cv nut. It helped!!!

As far as the life of the bearing I dont expect it to last longer than the rotors I just bought, by that time I should already have the 5 lug conversion .
