    squeal when turning

Not sure if i should post here or in suspension, bear with me.

Before i start this is NOT the power steering belt or any belt for that matter.

So, when im at a stand still, and i turn the wheel, the car makes a squealing sound. It does not do this when the car is moving however. The best way i can describe it... is like an old door hinge. I keep thinking tie rod, but im not sure if its inner or outer if it is. Any help would be nice, as it is an embarrassing sound. Thanks

I had the same problem, only mine was while stopped, or at low speed tight turning. Turned out that I had a very slight power steering fluid leak, so I topped off the fluid, and it stopped. So, maybe not the belt, but the fluid is low...? Figured I would chip in and try to help.

is could be many things but from my experience you probably have a lower ball joint that needs replacement, its not because its not loose that its still good, in fact if you hear a squealing sounds its because its missing some grease so your basically starting to eat the metal on the ball joint, so it will become loose soon enough and that is dangerous.
ask a friend to turn the wheels for you while you put your hand on the lower ball joint u should be able to ''feel'' the sqealing inside it if the problem comes from there.

So i figured it out. The noise stopped today after i raised my car a bit after changing the transmission fluid. I also checked all tie rods, bjs, and i found i need a new cv so thats poop. Anyway it was the tire rubbing. Thanks everybody for your suggestions.

There should be a lot more questions now. What was the underlying issue. How does a tire rub the strut tower? How does it squeak when you are sitting still? I would have liked to see a picture of that. How did you fix it?

I had 17s that rubbed when turning sharp. Now on CD5 7 spokes on F&F1 I wasnt even paying attention when i posted, the damn tie rods were the problem. Sorry for looking like a dumbass.
