    radiator sealant directions

Well I bought Holts Radiator SPEEDflush and flushed the cooling system as instructed, I drained the fluid and the water ( I KNOW I KNOW ) came clear, I peaked from the radiator cap neck and still found some derbies inside it.

So I guess the product didn't work as intended, so anyway, I had bought it and bought a WURTH RADIATOR SEALANT, my plan was to clean the cooling system with SPEEDflush then use the WURTH SEALANT.

I looked upon the WURTH SEALANT directions, it says shake it and use it on a warm radiator !! how can I achieve that !! isn't it unsafe to open a hot radiator ?!

Besides even if I do, how am I going to bleed the system afterwards since, I read that the average sealant should sit inside the radiator for approx. 300 miles / 482 km before it can fully seal all cracks.

Why bother with the half ass fix. Just buy a new rad for $75. The flush the sealant and the jb weld had to cost that much and it's not a guarantee to fix anything.

Agreed. And that sealant crap will mess up other normal functioning parts down the road, ie - your water pump.

all I asked was for directions on how to use it, what you guys mentioned already heard it from you before on many many many threads ...even from eric the car guy.

The WURTH however mentions that it doesn't clog oil passages nor water pumps nor thermostat

whats ground black pepper man Illinois Erik ?!

it seals up coolant systems. im Macgyver didnt ya know. for real though I think I caught something on the highway with my newish aluminum radiator and at temp it was shooting steam out, not bad but Id be out of coolant after 100 miles. was no way going to use bar's or any of that other crap, as ive seen a handful of cars ruined by it.
tried that trick almost 2 years ago and its still holding up and the car runs fine. it basically goes to the leak and turns into like concrete when it gets there..the rest kinda meanders around the system. Ive drained and refilled and still no leak. I used a 3/4ish full container of like the dollar shaker ground black pepper lmao.

Nice, I don't have this product unfortunately, however there's a debate on blue devil on youtube and how the poster got his car ruined then many commentators called him wrong for not following the directions properly and then there's that video I posted about the guy with the 1990 accord like mine, using Bar's and fixed the problem.

Blue devil said to poor slowly when the engine is idling and half the bottle 150ml for a 7 Quarts/liters cooling system, others said you should remove the thermostat and the heater core valve to max

I know I have this WURTH but gonna follow the instructions for Blue Devil for it.

Hope it works for you, good luck. remember though this is only a bandage not a fix.

I hope so, worst case scenario I'll have to take the engine apart ^__^ will be a first timer for me but I hope it works.

I read somewhere that the cooling passages in engines and radiators of old cars are wide and won't get clogged like new cars, is that true ?! does it have to do with "pour-slowly" technique !? or is it a load of crap ?!

                      update:
alright, I removed the thermostat, filled the radiator with fresh water and left room for 150 ml of sealant, removed the radiator cap and started the car.

the bottle has 300 ml in total and the directions says 150 ml is enough for 10 liter of coolant. since we 7.1 liters / 7 quartz on our cb7s, I slowly (during a period of 5 minutes) poured 140 ml of sealant into the radiator and re-installed the cap.

left the car running for 50 minutes on idle, I noticed that the white smoke slowly faded and the temperature held steady along with the RPM. I then turned off the car and will make it rest till tomorrow,

of course there might still be some coolant left in the exhaust so it'll evaporate once I drive it around I guess

Below is a screenshot I took after 50 minutes with the engine running and the fans kicked on. as you noticed before I using this product, I emptied half a gas tank for 146 km which sucks !! maybe the cooling was fouling the O2 sensor and caused bad mileage, I get no code for the O2 sensor whatsoever

is it OK to drive the car around without the thermostat ?! and for how long ?! or is it better for me to put a pan, drain the coolant, re-install the thermostat and re-put the coolant blended with the sealant back so I don't lose it ?!

                      your inputs are much appreciated.
