I painted my driver side door panel a few weeks back and ever since my lock will stay in the down position but like all the way down further than usual. I pulled the panel off seeing if it was binded up on something. Nothing... I'm at a loss as to how to fix this issue has anyone else suffered from this? BTW it won't lock my driver side door. When I hit the lock switch it don't budge up or down.

The lock plunger screws up or down to adjust.
Check your actuator in the door. The car won't allow you to lock the door if it's not closed.Comment

How do you determine if the actuator is closed or not? I think it is my actuator it seems like that rod won't move at all. Thinking about going to the salvage year and getting another one and how do I remove it would I take the window out?Comment

The switch works you can hear the lock trying to move inside while pressed it just don't want to move even with key in outside lock cylinder. The rod won't go anywhere which makes me think the actuator is shot.Comment
