P2T4 Transmission Picked up in LA.....Questions

My third gear in my M2B4 LSD tranny finally completely gave out so I had to get a new tranny.

So I drove my butt all the way from Scottsdale, AZ to El Monte, CA to find myself a JDM low mileage tranny, since I had 2 weeks off from work and i wanted to go on a road trip with my recent LS400 DD, had to break it in somehow!

Seems to check out good upon initial inspection, clean case, came with Minty new SHINE made in Japan starter, and VSS and backup sensor along with clutch fork and original TO bearing everything intact and OE bolts/hardware that looks never tampered with.

Initally went to get a $450 trans, but it ended up being VERY dirty, M2L6 that seemed like it was neglected and tossed in a parts bin along with other dirty parts, didn't come with a starter or any sensors. I remembered those aren't anything special so I asked the guy if he had any others and Found 7 H22/F20B gems sitting on a pallet up above, all clean cases, some of which were LSD T2W4 (2x from an Accord Euro R), 2 LSD M2B4s and finally this P2T4, which was in my budget of around $500, he wanted a grand for the others so as much as I wanted to, I couldn't drop that much this time around.

The case itself has H22 written on it, but based on google searches, I found out it might be from an F20B? can anyone confirm? I was thinking it was out of an SiR Accord w/ an H22 but I'm not positive.

I don't believe its LSD since I can see a Pin in the differential. Are the gears nice and short for fun acceleration runs?

    Anyways, here's some pics!

Why not replace you syncros and gears in the transmission you already have?

I've already done that, 2 years ago. (back then did mainshaft, countershaft bearings and 5th gear syncro/sleeve set with F22 5th gear shimmed to fit. Cost me about 400 for a 5th gear syncro sleeve set and all that last time, this time around I'm pretty sure my 3rd gear is shot, which would probably cost hundreds more to get replaced along with the syncro and sleeve for 3rd which is another 200. So i'm either looking at 500+labor to install all the parts or just get another tranny which is WAY easier.

Plus I kind missed hitting VTEC in 5th, can't do that with an F22 5th.

I see. I've never hit VTEC in 5th. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, yes. However at the top of 3rd, I'm already at 105 mph. I still have my H2U5. Hitting VTEC in 4th or 5th is asking for trouble I don't need. Seriously!

I'm working on some things. Let me know how the new transmissions behaves.

I had to check the sticker twice because it sure sounds funny name for a company or a product made in Japan.

we looked before we even started on the swap and it has a lsd in it, i can see all the way through. we looked in a tranny book the shop has and it shows the transmission as a 94-97 Accord SiR transmission and lsd was optional and mine is a LSD tranny. the only problem is that i thought the motor was a SiR motor and they were only 190 hp and 152 tq. Steve at hmotors said that the motor is from a prelude (200 hp) and it is a LSD Accord SiR transmission he put on it because I wanted a LSD tranny. we got the gear ratios too out of that book b/c i don't want a longer geared tranny and the gears in the Accord SiR P2T4 tranny are just a hair shorter than M2B4 or M2A4 gears. So it looks like I am coming out ahead. There is a prelude on Honda-Chat and he has full interior, I/H/E/ a chip, and VAFC and he is running a 13.7 sec 1/4 mile on bfg drag radials. and was running 13's all day long at his track, pretty impressive. I got the Accord SiR shifter boot and knob, shifter assembly, all new motor mounts, and a new clutch and flywheel with my motor. The valve cover has been repainted a smooth glossy black, and it came with greddy spark plugs, we took those out. The swap will be done tomarrow and so i just hope the motor is good and doesn't knock or smoke

              Good job.

              It's a non-LSD transmission from an Accord. Specifically '94-'97 CD6 SiR.

Same gear ratio as the T2T4 transmission minus LSD...

Thanks guys! It sounds like I made the right choice and this is going to be one fun tranny to row the gears in.

Old post I know, but I was curious, how did you like the p2t4 transmission? Just found one locally for a STEAL... dunno if I wanna buy it to replace my m2s4 tho since its gonna be my daily driver.

It’s a good transmission. Still in the car and has zero issues, it’s not my daily so I only put on about a max of 3-4K each year on it. And I was able to beat my friends EuroR swapped accord in acceleration, although now I e probably got supporting mods that surpass a stock EuroRs power with my h22a.
