Remove Broken Transmission studs?

Good Evening,

while trying to put back in my transmission mount one of my studs snapped clean off the transmission. I'm curious how I can remove it since it's pretty much flush with the transmission? I have 2 new studs from a auto transmission I pulled from my Ody, so I'm just need to get the broken ones out.

If they're flush, drilling them out is the easiest way to go. Start very small and drill as deep as the stud goes down. Then, gradually increase in size continuing to go all the way down. When you've got a bit that's just smaller than the diameter of the stud, sometimes it will spin out if you reverse the bit with it in the new hole. Other times, you may have to get an extractor bit after it. You can buy those at Harbor Freight for pretty cheap.

You may luck out and get the bolt nub spinning out while drilling

I actually have the extractor kit, so I just need the left hand drill bits? Maybe that's why I never had luck getting those extractor bits to work.. xD

I get the extractor bits (which are basically left hand drill bits) but what's the purpose of the left hand drill bits?

got it fixed, extractors didn't work, they would slip out and wouldn't budge on pulling out the old studs. I just drilled the studs out and re-tapped the hole.
