    f20b
    i dunno
whats the non vtec prelude engine? is taht f22b sohc?
h23a? what car is that from
if any of these engines can be foudn at a junkyard i can get them relatively cheap like an a6 for 350$

f22b h23a would be nice too, the jdm prelude has the f22b i think and the usdm one had the h23 or some of them have the h22, the f22b and h23 are both DOHC non vtec motors

I know were you can get a f20a dohc for 450, I don't know how much shipping would be though. The cheapest route though would probrably be a f20a sohc.

Depends on what you want to do... if you want to turbo, I'd go with the F22-series... but if you are going NA, I'd have to say either a H22 or F22b...

            Just my three cent...

for a $600 budget, better scratch off the jdm F20b coz that ain't happening
either the jdm f22b or f20a, both dohc, would be the better choice.

                  94-97 Ex F22B1 5G - CD 2156 8.8:1 145 @ 5000 rpm 147 lb/ft @ 4500 rpm

                  91-93 F22A6 4G - CB 2156 8.8:1 140 @ 5600 rpm 142 lb/ft @ 4500 rpm

                  90-93 2.0 Si F20A 4G - CB 1997 9.5:1 150 @ 6100 rpm 137 lb/ft @ 5000 rpm

those are my 3 choices i guess. hp and tq wise the f22b1 is the best but where does rpm's come into play here,
is the f20a gonna be better than the f22b with torque because it
                  has 137 lb/ft @ 5000 rpm instead of 147 lb/ft @ 4500 rpm

My question really is, which will be faster, i want more of that off the line punch since i dont have any cuz i have an auto.

I would suggest the highest torque rating at the lowest rpm.... they kinda go hand in hand. Also, I talk to a guy from the HT forum, and he said he pick up his F22b engine for like $450.

i like the b series. this is confusing f22b1 and f22b2 are sohc. while plain f22b is dohc. i think i just want the jdm f22b dohc. anyone know where i can find a good price of one of these?

You know, there is nothing wrong with owning a SOHC... and there isn't really any power difference I believe. Just my 3 pennys...

hmm i guess your right. i think im going to decide on an f22b1 from a junkyard, ive already had bad experience with buying engines offline, plus it would seem pretty cheap to find a 94-97 accord ex engine and i can always bring it to them if it goes bad with thier 90 day warranty or whatever. So f22b1 coming soon!

dang bro your third engine. Maybe you should be racing or getting it built at all especially on a $600 budget. You should just ride it out and save more money until your ready to build because in the end you have to realize, when hookin up cars to go fast especially me you have to pay to play. If the motor came out of the junkyard its probably already beat to shit good luck.

                              f22b dohc.

if you happen to blow the bottom end on that, f22b dohc heads bolt onto f22a's..

                              that or the f22b1
