    what's the update?

I was gonna say to check your oil pressure sender (switch), cuz when these fail it'll set the light off, but everything could be fine otherwise. I assume your oil pump is still working properly...correct?

You should attach the manual pressure gauge to where the oil pressure sender(switch) connect at the back of the block & run your car, see if it's at the speced out pressure. If not, then you have internal probs somewhere. Hopefully it's just the switch though.
Cleaning out the oil pan area/assy was a good idea & just nice to know that everything is up to par in that dept. No worries about it later.

Well my car was doing the same. I hadnt really moved it in about a week and half. And last time i drove it, it came on. But today i went out for a spin. I thought it was gonna come on so i wasnt driving it hard. I went down road and stayed there for a while and then left again. I got on freeway and was on it for about 10 min and nothing no oil light came on. I drove about 30 miles or more tonight and no oil light came on. I hope it was just a miss reading or some crazy thing that made it come on. I will be driving it this coming week so i will know if it comes on or not.

this is also why in my built up engine I will install an oil pressure gauge...so I know when the oil pressure switch just went bad, versus my oil pressure truly droppin for some reason
