knock?

hey guys, i dont know if this is really severe or not but when i crank my wheel all the way to the right and go in reverse...i hear a knock from the right side of my car.

usually it is only once but sometimes twice.
ive recently replaced my axles...oh and that was the side that my minor accident was on.

Nothing serious... CV boot starting to go. When you have some cash, change your driveshaft.

you cant HEAR a cv boot going out..

and if you just replaced the axles and you have been in an accident on that side, it could be another worn suspension part..

Hopefully its not anything serious ..check the tie rod also on that side .. Are you lowered?
Check everything out ... I had a bad ball joint that did sorta the same thang ..

yea, im lowered...
im not sure what it would be but it does sound a bit bad when i try and turn the car from a stand still. oh well.

it is coming from the front of the car right? i would also have to agree with the osumption that its your cv axle going bad.....they click and they clunk......just dont cut the wheel to hard...

only happens in reverse though not going slow and moving foward.

okay, so today i was backing up into my driveway and i heard a grinding.....then a knock.
still coming from the right side and only happens in reverse. i have no clue what it is.

okay...there is a grind then a knock when i crank the wheel in either direction and going in reverse.

a guy at the automotive class said it might be the reverse tranny gear.
oh well, i am getting a new transmission anyways, lol.

update...after i took off my wheel for checking something on the brakes, i saw these gashes around the rim and a deep ass gash on the wheel weight.

so im assuming it is rubbing against the rim whcih causes the grinding and the pop would be hitting the weight.

this blows...and this only happened on my prelude si rims.

when u say knock, does it sound like tension releasing? cause ive had the exact same sound on my car for years now. can't seem to figure it out but no problems from it so far. Please continue with the updates im still curious where the noise is coming from though.

yea my car did the same difference ... but it was more of a ...knock knock..... whooooooair.... etink etink.... etink etink whooooooooooo.... e tink ur motors broke.

okay, what i found out was that it is hitting the knuckle and the wheel weight is sliding along the rim which causes the scratching noise, but the pop...i dont know.

my wheel balance is proably thrown off :mad:
