i've been using that XTD clutch since i jan. when i went H22. typical PITA driving it during the break-in period; but considering its a stage 3, and i have it mated to a fidanza 8.5pd flywheel, it wasn't too bad. IMO, a great buy for what its worth, and it does the job.

there's someone on 92lude.com who gave it a huge thumbs up. I'll be saving for that set up as soon as I pay mom off for her help with rebuilding my engine.

Just bought a stage 1 today. I did a little research a little too late and found out there are a good amount of people who preach the death of XTD, and 80% of everyone else says they slip during break in, then grip like a mofo after that, then the last 20% of good comments say they're great from install to its end. The opinions are about 35/65 bad to good review (respectivly). Has me a bit shaken I may have wasted my money, that's more negativity than would be expected, but the guy from 92Lude I mentioned hasn't complained about it (other than that he wasn't used to the light flywheel yet when he was trying to get the car on ramps, and he wound up chucking the ramps under his car. Funny picture) and there are good comments about it on here too, maybe they're good for hondas.

well guys i just ordered my xtd stage 3 racing clutch today. to replace my brand x stage 3 racing clutch i had put in nearly 5 years ago. i guess we will all see the good, bad and the ugly of this clutch. and also we will see if the brand x clutch from prior already in my car is actually a stage 3 racing clutch like the reciept i have says it is. . . . . . won't mention any business names just yet but i'm sure a few know of the shop its located in jax fl. well to be continued. . . . . . .oh one more thing i did a little review search only thing i found on xtd was ebay review's if any one knows where there's a link to a site about xtd or any thing it would be helpfull. thanks.

i liked my exedy clutch, pretty grippy for a stage 1 and it was barely 200 bucks i think

I'd like to point out something that me and a buddy have found out. If you look at the exedy oem replacement or even the stage1 clutches, you can see that everythnig is the same except for the clutch disk. Xtd just painted it and stamped their sticker on it. I'm not bashing on the whole clutch, i'm just pointing out something that i've noticed. There has been a big rant on d-series about it, and i've heard lots of negative opinions. IMO i'd just buy a diff clutch... but thats me. Another friend just bought one for his civic and it does grab like a mofo, but other than that it feels like an oem clutch? Thats my .02 cents, later.

How does it feel like an OEM clutch if it grabs like a mofo? What more do you want it to do for you, shift? Just messing around, but I have this to say: I have the stage one and 12lb flywheel combo too, and so far the only complaints I have are the flywheel came with no timing marks, so I had to put my own on there. The clutch does it's job so far. I just barely finished breaking it in though. I put three hundred to break it in, then another three hundred so far and no problems. Keep in mind I have an H22A. Thats not to say I won't have some in the future though. It does grab great though. As good as the CenterForce Stage 1 in my Mazda.

i've had the XTD stage 3 for a year now, and about 11,xxx miles on the swap/clutch since. it still grabs hard, but definetely easier to drive than it was when first installed. i have it mated to a fidanza 8pd. flywheel and i have no complaints. clutch pedal feel is a bit firmer over stock but not over-bearing; probably one of the best bargains i've bought for the H22 that i'd recommend to others.

i got the stage 1 / 8.5lbs flywheel.. I love the feel of it over oem. It is a little heavier but hardly noticable. It sucked real bad when it was breaking in, i could feel it slipping when i was breaking in the engine. (supposed to go from 30 to 50 WOT about 12 times... i felt it starting to slip around the 10th time)

but then when i moved to TN from MN i was in a really bad mood and so i took off from work kinda aggressive. When i got to the ramp for i40 i took off.. i remember telling my self if this thing slips i'm gonna run it off the road and walk home...well i chirped the tires in 2nd and 3rd... i was like WHOA! IT GRABS!! that helped my mood considerably.
