    car wont start =p

i get in my car to go buy some cigs, and it starts up fine, just like normal. i drive about 2 blocks away. go in the store come out, try to start my car and it wont start, the engine makes the sound like it's going to start when i'm turning the key, but it wont fire up. and it will keep trying to turn over as long as i'm holding the key, but wont fire up. almost like there is no gas, but i just put $10 in yesterday. should work...

    wtf..!

Same thing happened to me today, but I was on the highway doing 110, then once I hit 80 or so, the engine just turned off and hasn't started since...

I called HondaFan81, and he suggested to check for the sound of the fuel pump engaging, if you hear it, it should be OK, then check your coil and ignition.

I'll tell you what the problem was tomorrow once I get it fixed...

It Probably The Fuel Pump Relay My Car Does It Too It's Common
You Just Have To Find It And Tap A Few Times It May Be Stuck
It's On The Drvers Side Top Of The Dash It's A Gray Box This Could Be It If It Was Hot Out Today They All Do It

ok i took out the spark plug wires and checked for a spark, there was nothing. i only checked 2 of them but neither gave me a spark on my knife.

so do i just need new spark plugs?

i put the knife on the end of the rubbery wire part, not the valve cover.

ok i change the plugs, .44 for the gap. and its still not doing anything. i dont see a spark from the wires, but i'm not touching it metal to metal. about half inch away.

is there anything else i can check before buying a new dist...i really don't have $180 to buy a USED one, i'm hoping there is a diff problem...the car started fine 5 minutes before it quit. i don't get it. i dont think i'm getting spark from the wires, but i didn't touch metal to metal, i put my knife about quarter inch into the end of the wire in that hole, and i didnt see anything.

Dude, don't replace the distributor. Try the ignitor (inside the distr..), if that doesn't work try the coil. At first I thought it was your main relay. But your car should have started in a few minutes.
But after you've replaced the ignitor and the coil, you've spent the same $180.
                            Better than all 3 though.
