    ticking sound when accelerating

just as the title states. i just got my motor swapped in (f22a1) with the a6 intake, header, and oil pan. whenever i accelerate i hear this ticking noise. normally ticking noises arent a good thing what could this be.

Maybe you're hearing pinging. Hard to describe. Look it up. Heck, check your timing anyways if you just swapped your motor. Takes a few minutes.

one thing, is the ticking related to rpm, for example the higher rpm/load, more ticking?

yea the higher in rpms, the faster the ticking gets.

we did spill some power steering fluid on the alternator wen we removed t from the engine. could that have messed it up?

its the valve train. try adjusting them first. If you adjust them correctly, it shoudl only tick when cold. If it keeps ticking when hot, you have to replace the bad rocker arm which will most likely be cylinder 3. i will try and find the SB...
