not starting problem - bad distributor

hay guys having some trouble with my car maybe yall can help. the engine turns but it doesnt want to come start. i changed the fuel filter thinking that was it but nope i also changed the battery but nada. maybe its happened to someone but whoever has some info i would appreciate it

did it just all of a sudden not want to start?? check the main relay, if you can locate it and tap on it, it should start, if that fixes it you should take it out and resolder the joints. there are instructions around here im sure.

You really gotta give more details...ok so you were driving and all of the sudden it quit on...Did it bog or just shut off?

Did you check to see if you got any spark?Take one of the spark plugs out with the spark plug wire attached to it and have someone crank it.It has to be dark though and make sure that the threaded part of the spark plug is touching the valve cover or find a good ground so electricity can travle through.You migh get zapped so wear gloves.

yea i was just driving and it turned off before it kinda of spudered and like the rpms went down and up real quick once

yeah.. that def. kinda sounds like a dizzy problem... if your rpm signal was acting crazy.. like i said before.. do yourself a spark check and get back to us...

i had the same experience and it turned out to be the fuel pump!!

be careful with the connections cause i snapped 1 of the fuel lines and now im %#$@!!

sorry guys cant find my last post but i fixed my car and its running. turned out to be the entire distributor so i changed and now im happy. thanks to all who gave some info when i was freaking out. thanks
