    Car will not stop starting

So I shut my car off and upon restarting it was dead now for me this usually means my battery connectors shook off cause im hella lazy and havent tightened them so i go fix em and powers back but i start it and and it wont stop starting!Even with the key out I had to disconnect the battery for it to stop. Now I think its either a short or my starter is fucked.I checked the starter fuse and its fine.pls help coordies unite!

might be your alternator is bad..thats what a mechanic told me before... but mine just had loose connections..Hope you get to fix whatever problem there is on your car.

            Ignition Switch

My opinion: The starter is only spining because it is being given electricity. I don't think the starter is bad, unless it is bad in the evil sense because it can't go get electricity just because it wants to. The alternator just turns physical energy into electrical energy that is stored in the battery. So the alternator is good too, unless it is also evil. I would be looking at the mechanism that tells the starter to turn... the ignition switch. It must be hanging up in the III position. I don't mean just the key. I mean the plastic part behind the key cylinder. Unless of course your possessed and you don't realize that you were holding the key in the III position. But that's unlikely.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.

Well right now I have the starter unhooked and am pop starting my way around town so does that still warrant the ignition switch?

I was going to say this until you did first... 93CB7, your post is somewhat intelligent but you forgot the solenoid...

that happened to me. funny story really, but ill get to the point, i had something, (looked) like a rock lodged into my ignition, so I got in the haynes and did my work, I had to remove the ignition switch and dissasemble that, I wanted to not have any more problems so I took out all the wafers, besides 1, (dont get any wise ideas) haha, ive got protection, nah man just kidding but that will get the ignition stuck in lll like 93cb7 said, and that's what was wrong with mine, not a problem since. try that, its free and it could save your starter, later.
