That red "X" hose is your heater hose. The green "X" is the heater control valve.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.

            What the man said ^^..

I replaced mines and a few other ones just incase. Man it is a BIZZNITCH to get out and put back in..

I just used fuel line for mines, no problem imo..

I thought it was the Water Pump hose, but in any case it is a bitch to do.

thanks 93cb7. on HT i posted the same thang and was thinking it was a heater hose since someone told me so. then i heard about bypass hose,so i got skeptical. btw can the heater control valve cause my coolant to leak instead of the hose?

You should save yourself future problems and replace all of them. They are a pain.

My same hose is leaking (again) but from the other end. I've replaced that hose 3x since 2001.

ThunderCat --- If you want to be sure and get the right hose or whatever, print your picture and take into the Honda dealership. Due to the crappy location of that hose, it's worth it to pay an extra buck or whatever for one from Honda.

Also, I wouldn't expect to see a generic screw-type hose clamp there. It's easy for those to cause leaks over time due to initially over- or under-tightening. And that's a shame; you should "never" have to replace a hose because the hose clamp let you down.

Get a hose clamp from the dealer --- the OEM kind can be a bitch to get on, but there's zero guesswork about tightness and Permatex or whatever won't be required.

In the old days, everyone always said to replace hose clamps when replacing hoses, so when I got new hoses from the dealer (I'm that kind of geek) I asked for new hose clamps and the parts guy had a weird look on his face. "Did you lose one or break it?"
