    overheating problems HELP!!!

ok few months ago my car overheated while i was at a light.so i checked the water and seen if the fans came on, they did water was full. I flushed the system. changed a few stuff like thermostat, that didnt work so i bought a radiator nope not that. I heard that the radiator cap can also be a problem so bought a new one. Hopeing that would work, nope not that either.. Out of the blue one day it didnt overheat... Its been months i havent had a problem, it overheated tonight! Does anybody have advise that could help me???

make sure you have enough coolant after you change yoru thermostat change the thermostat first it sounds like its getting stuck. then out new coolant in there.

Maybe your coolant pump is shorting out or seizing up did you check the connections on it to see if they were loose or do a voltage check.

            explain a little more...

I looked in the radiator itself and the pump looked to be flowing well..

All im saying is your pump is a.) prolly going bad or on its way out. b.) your belts are loose or bad. c.) there might be a loose or bad electrical connection.

Honestly I dont know but these are things that I would have checked first.

what the hell are you talking about electric pump? now im confused id tell him to change the water pump and also try runnin it without a thermo if it doesnt over heat without the thermo then thats bad also try back pressure flushing the system at like 10 or 15 psi should blow anything loose

                  the build and demise
buy stuff i want a new car

                    WTF are you talking about?

The Standard Waterpump is operated mechanically off the Timing Belt even if the belt was loose it would still pump unless the impeller on the Waterpump was corroded away or not turning and there are NO electrically operated parts that will affect Coolant flow.
Please Halfazn, I know you like to help but if you do not know what is causing it please do not offer advice. Sometimes it is best to sit back and learn.

                    OK Now.
                    1. What Coolant to Water Ratio have you got in the System?
                    2. Have you Pressure Tested the Cooling System for Leaks?
                    3. Is the Thermostat installed Correctly?
                    4. Has the Cooling System been Bled Correctly?
                    5. Is the Coolant in the Radiator actually overheating?
                    6. What is the Temperature in the radiator?
                    7. Are the Aux Fans Cutting in at the Correct Temperature?

Please answer these questions to the best of your knowledge so we can help better?
