    steering wheel / removing abs

Ok my steering was cut to hell and back by the previous owner. Well its the 92-93 w/ the air bag. I really like the old look of the 90-91 steering wheel and its impossible to find a whole steering wheel with the air bag, being that most air bags are removed before.
Can I swap the old style in? I know the SRS sensor will trip but I can just go in there and remove the equipment and cut the power to that light.

I think you can just remove all the components, including anything that would throw a light. Havent had to do it before, so I am not sure whats all included with that junk.

I do have a 91 wheel, good cond. except the top of the wheel is peeling like they all do. if ur interested, lemme know

maybe interested just send me a pic.

Would like to hear a bit more on it before I dive in. I can do anything needed when it comes to swapping parts but if it's going to take a huge amount of work may not be worth it

I got a 92-93 Steering wheel with Airbag and clockspring available, let me know if you want it. I'll check back here a lil later to see if you responded.

I think he is still waiting to hear about how hard it is to remove the ABS junk... I never messed with airbags, so I dunno what all there is to remove.

Me either never dealt with this before, interior work is new to me. Not sure about converting to a non SRS wheel.

I would be interested in the SRS wheel. Most of the damage to mine is to the airbag area, its been smashed then cut up. Go ahead and send me some pictures. My e-mail is Renzema@hotmail.com.

              thanks

put a 92-94 prelude wheel in its place if you can find one...you might like it better than the Accord's. eBay always has airbags for 91-93 accord's for like 50 bucks. but personally, I would not downgrade my car by removing the SRS system. airbags are extremely effective when you get in a crash and I am happy to know i have both of mine in my car in case it happens. if you do find one that's peeling, buy the Honda leather wrapped steering wheel option from the 94-97 accord. you hand-stich it on yourself, and they look gooood.

thought i'd point out that last time i checked it's illegal to ship and/or sell used airbags.
even if it's on a steering wheel

yep thats the problem, you have to find someone with one. A business will not sell one.
