    E brake light??

heres the scoop. When im taking some bad ass turns, (ones where my ass slides a lil, or when im weight shifting my car) and my tires squeel a lil, or it feels my rear tires are gripping realy hard ( I love my yokohamas) my ebrake light pops on. whatsup with taht, i have no clue where t ostart on that one.
Only time i used my e brake to turn was when i had to do a u turn, in a 3 lane road, pretty fun and a lot of tire smoke since i was in first gear. Any clues on why the light comes up, thnx

your "brake" light will come on if your fluid is low also. So if your taking turns that hard, you may be shifting the fluid all to one sid and the light will kick on.

I agree, low fluid is probably the case. But if you have a leak, you should probably find the cause.

hope you figure out what it is bro.

as stated above you could be low on fluid or maybe your e-brake cable needs to be adjusted.

does it feel like your rear brakes are sticking?

There are many threads about this...

a little searching would've yielded some results...

Your E-Brake light means, your, "BRAKE" light has lit up right? that means the little sensor at the e-brake is off...open it up, the ebrake console that is and adjust the ebrake cable with 10mm wrench. Most likely the ebrake cable is stretched from the years...

If that didnt solve the problem, your ebrake handle itself is wobbly right? apply a little piece of cardboard on that sensor, which is a lever that is depressed down when the ebrake handle is down.

Now, in your gauge cluster, in the diagram of the car...where when you open the doors, the doors open indicator lights up right? is THAT "brake" light on? if that's the case, then your bulb is blown in the tailights.

Actualy that is the light that tells you your fluid is low too. The other light is the parkng brake light only.

(long day yesterday and brain wasn't thinking of the correct light.)

JaiBeezy DnB, just do like Accord13&BA4 said and make sure the handle is pushing the button/sensor down far enough.

LOL, it isnt the rear tail lights cause i fixed that problem already. Its prolly fluid, because i was going against this mustang on the way over here, and i was going about 110 and i had to swerve down a lane since someone dindt see me coming. Anyways when i did that the sudden movement made my light flicker on then off. So ill get some Honda Brake fluid and make itt a day. thanx for the support and im not that much of a newb.

I have decided... F22b jdm with a turbo coming later. I will be happy

Oh and for clarification (sorry t odouble post) its the same light that comes on when you pull up on the emergency brake, the cables are not loos because i just had my whole brake system taken car of. And the handle isnt loose. It prolly is the fluid as i said up there.

Then it's not the brake fluid! it's the little ebrake sensor! read what i posted earlier!!
Open up your center console that houses the ebrake...you will see a little sensor that depresses up and down when the ebrake handle is yanked up...

The brake master cylinder reservoir has a sensor (those 2 little crimped wires in the fluid). If fluid is low and your taillight bulb isn't blown, then the "gauge" BRAKE light(as in doors open gauge) will be on.

---For your "BRAKE" as in ebrake light to flicker on and off over bumps and whatnot, then that's your ebrake handle sensor!!!

I disagree. I've had this happen in both my '91 Accord and my old '85 Accord as well as a few cars of other makes and models. What happens is the fluid gets to the point where it will register as low when it sloshes on a hard turn or brake. This causes the e-brake light to come on, not the light that indicates a blown bulb.

So far, every single one of them has been fixed by adding brake fluid. What you are describing about the ebrake sensor is possible but, in my experience, unlikely.

JaiBeezy DnB, try adding some brake fluid and let us know if it solves the problem. I'm pretty sure it will.

                      ...

                      Okay.

                      Here, ill clear myself, again.

BRAKE = Emergency Brake (as in yank the ebrake up, see the light come on?)
brake = gauge cluster, brake light as in the doors open indicator...that pod.

                      Blown taillight bulb = brake
                      Low Fluid, then brake
Loose ebrake handle, loose ebrake cable = BRAKE.

Going over bumps, hittin` the Accord hard, it's either or, or both.
My Accord is like that. I had a blown bulb in the rear taillight, replaced it and it fryed some the contact points, shorting some shit i cant figure out...since then the brake light is on foreva...i even have perfect fluid level on the reservoir as well...again, i agree, these are old cars, old wires that sensors depend on...but it's still a HONDA lol!

                      Making sense now...

                      i hope!

Okay, I appreciate the fact that you're willing to take the time to post all that, but you're wrong about one key point: The E-BRAKE light comes on for low brake fluid, not the light that indicates a broken bulb.

How do I know this for sure? I tested it this morning to make sure I wasn't wrong.

I just went out to my car, popped the hood, siphoned out enough fluid to where it was just over the "Minimum" line, and started the car.

                        Guess what happened?

The bright red BRAKE light came on while I was backing up my driveway.

To reiterate, the same light that signals when your parking/emergency brake is on is the same light that will come on when you are low on brake fluid.

If you insist that i am wrong, even though i highly doubt it, i dont want to start a, "who's right" war.

Okay, again, my friend, you are not reading...
I never said that when the tail light bulb is out that the EBRAKE light would come on... (shrugs hard).

In times like this, i wish i had the Accord car manual circa 1990

That's all for me and this thread.

I'm not out to start a "who's right" war either, I'm just trying to give the proper information here.

I don't think I ever said that you said the EBRAKE light would come on for a broken bulb. All I've said is that the EBRAKE light comes on if you have low fluid. I even went out and tested it to make sure I wasn't telling people wrong information.

The only confusion on this thread seems to be whether the "EBRAKE light" or the "brake bulb light" comes on when you're low on brake fluid.

JaiBeezy DnB, did you ever get the problem fixed?
